Ladies and gentlemen, a star is born! :points:

   It's funny, I was just asking about our ladies and their spins. This young lady is simply amazing. I love that he mentioned her difficult footwork section.......Our ladies are looking great for the future. That's a great score and a nice lead following the SP. I can't wait to see her LP tomorrow.

She has some jumping issues, but artistically she's the greatest American JGP newcomer I've seen since Karen Chen debut in 2013.
Actually, she's more refined than 2013's Karen...

Isabeau's 71.25 is also second highest SP international debut in history, following only Anna Shcherbakova's 73.18 in 2018 JGP Slovakia.

She’s amazing, I don’t even know what to say. Shoutout to Isabeau’s coaches and choreographers because this program is just STUNNING, and it’s designed to grab all the possible points Isabeau could get (even with some deficiencies). Just a great team.

Go Isabeau  She shines internationally, too. I’m going to be honest, I thought she would need some time to build her scores, but I’m pleasantly surprised the judges were completely sold! I was completely sold the first time I saw her, too, so I get it :)

What I CAN say about her is that the height is there in her jumps. We've seen young skaters in the past who lose their jumping ability as they grow because they don't have the height to complete the rotation. This is where I see the biggest difference between them and Isabeau.

Oh dang that was amazing Isabeau. The skating skills and glide remind me of Kostornaia and Sinitsyna. I hope her jumps will get more stable, I don't even need her to do ultra-c.
Just gorgeous. Great skating skills, and what I love is that she takes her time with each element and lets each movement shine. So much nicer than some of the hectic, frantic programs out there.

And

Alysa Liu SP at Cranberry:
71.4239.6231.80

Isabeau Levito SP at Courchevel:
71.2541.0830.17

both international but Cranberry may be semi home-cooked

Alissa still skates in shows: Has done SOI US in recent years. She is now a member of IDI (Ice Dance International) and will be doing seminars and shows with them, and when she's not doing all of that she coaches.
Interesting…

I think at least a couple of her peers have gone a similar route.

I think she’ll do well on the show circuit, or whatever is left of it anyway…

Wow! Isabeau really amazed me today. Loved everything about that skate. She was so refined and took her time between each element. Looks like her and Lindsay will offer the biggest battle to the Russian girls this season.

Isabeau is so lovely. Is she working on the 3A and quads? I hate asking that after her very first international program, but she could compete well against the best seniors if she learns those more difficult jumps.
She's attempted a quad toe in some of the US summer competitions, but hasn't landed it yet.(I think it's also been downgraded everytime?) Her team must be very aware of what they need to win, most of her coaches are Russian. Anyway, I love her and I'm glad the judges do too.

Yeah, I meant JGP. Smaller (especially home) tournaments' scores are not that reliable I think.
Neither Med, Zagi, Kosto, Trusova or Valieva scored as high in their JGP debuts and some of them were quite known and anticipated on JGP tour! Judges must have really liked what they saw from Isabeau today. :giggle:
