The champs camp was over a month ago (Early Sep). Bradie is in much better shape now.

I still think Bradie is capable of winning medal at Skate America.
I think that was the video Tom posted on his story. That is a nice combo. I think she will do well at Skate America.

I'm glad Bradie is doing better. I think she, like Alysa, is a good competitor and as long as there are no physical issues she should do well in her competitions.

I watched Mariah's program and her new SP is a very good fit. Like Karen, she can't seem to rotate 3-3s but unlike Karen her jumps outside of combos are usually rotated. Let's see how her GPs go...

Alysa, Bradie, Karen, and Mariah are scheduled to speak at the official Beijing 2022 Team USA Media Summit next week. The event is supposed to "present nearly 100 Olympians, Paralympians and hopefuls." I wonder how the skaters were chosen? It's not last years' podium (includes Alysa and Mariah, excludes Amber) or only national champions (includes Mariah). And the event is on Zoom so availability shouldn't have been a major factor...

Those are USFSA's favorites for years. Amber is not. Even Amber is in group 3 by winning medals at Nats again, the chance for her to be selected on Olympics team is very slim. She will lose to other ladies in the same group (e.g. Karen, Bradie is expected to be at least in group 3)

Is Mariah still struggling with the triple-triple? She only did a triple-double.
Without 3A and clean triple triple, the highest group Mariah can go is group 3 as expected. It is very interesting to see how her FS goes. Group 3 is getting crowded. :)

TBH, I don’t think that the scores used for the groups (especially group 1) are very accurate. I do not think that anyone will be winning a bronze medal in Beijing with a 217 total score. I think that 240+ scores seem much more accurate. Worlds was a generally low scoring event overall (especially in the ladies). Considering the technical elements and scores we’ve seen from around the world, it looks like under 220 won’t be doing much of anything for anyone nowadays.

I think people are taking the "tier score criteria" or w/e they call it way too seriously lol. If someone believes anyone below 230 will be getting a medal at all, then I have 217 bridges to sell to you, not just one. They'll pick the team as "transparently" as they have before.

I agree, 217 is not going to get you on the podium at GPs but I'm actually glad that the numbers are lower to differentiate between the candidates because if they'd put Group 1 cut off at 233 (2019 GPF bronze), it'd pretty much be a pointless category.

Right now though, there is the problem of Group 3 being too large so I do hope that the US women will step it up during the season to get some more Group 2 and maybe even Group 1 (Bradie?) candidates.

I agree. The system still need those tiers to decide who should be on "Olympics team", the tiers are not used to decide who will be on Podium. It's still fun to see which ladies belong to which group, just like some people are interested in doing "power rankings" in early season.
