It’s important to do both — be happy for her improving performances (and hope for more) and also be aware of the reality of her current status internationally & nationally. Which is: Unless the ISU adds another qualifying competition for TES minimums, it is indeed “not possible” for Gracie to be on the team for 2022 Olympics or 4CCs.

Let's be realistic, I don't see how Gracie Gold can be placed ahead of Alysa and Isabeau at Nationals. Besides, there are plenty of others are fighting for bronze - Bradie, Amber, Karen, Mariah, Lindsay. I'm happy for Gracie but it's really impossible for her to be on podium at Nats. Let's hope Gracie has a bye at nationals.

I would love to see a top 6 finish and some International assignments for next season.

I think Mariah should just forget about the triple-triple combo at Rostelecom. If she had went for a clean 3F+2T or 3Lz+2T in the short program here, she would have scored 67-68, and that would have been enough to beat Karen and maybe Kseniia Sinitsyna. Maybe she can get it back in time for Nationals, but she's certainly not getting a triple-triple back in a week. She probably can't break 200 without a triple-triple, but she doesn't need to do that. She just needs to do better than the other US ladies, and I think Mariah still has consistency in here. In the short program she only messed up the combo and in the free program she skated it clean. If she can consistently perform with pared down jump content, she's already doing better than her competition for the Olympic spot.

At this point the US would be silly not to send Alysa and Karen to the Olympics. Alysa is clearly the top US skater technically and scores 200+ even with mistakes. Karen meanwhile is getting good PCS from international panels which isn’t the case for Mariah, Lindsay, or Amber, and we’ll have to see what happens for Bradie. Moreover while Karen has lots of URs she’s still getting pretty good GOEs. Mariah with a near-clean free skate just matched Karen with a fall. While Karen is not as consistent as she was last year, when she only had one pop and one fall all season, she’s still a good bet to place in the top 10 along with 3 Russians, 3 Japanese, Hendrickx, Liu, and You Young. I guess maybe Gubanova could outscore her but I don’t think it will happen

Did I or didn’t I tell y’all not to count Gracie out?❤️
Holy smokes! First place with a score of 175, that is commendable! That score would've made her a medalist at last year's nationals. It's a shame Gracie doesn't have the minimum TES to go to the Olympics.

I think there's a deeper meaning to Gracie's music. Her long program, Daphnis et Chloe, is the similar to (the same?) the one from her 2017 season. I remember the original 2017 Daphnis performance. Gracie had finished last season with 1st place at Nationals and 4th at World's with her Firebird long program. So everyone was surprised when the next season, she struggled in the Grand Prix series, and didn't place well at Nationals, at least according to the expectations put on Gracie. After her disappointing Nationals performance, her coach Frank Carroll made a media spectacle of himself and threw Gracie's jacket into the trash, which she later quietly fished out. A few months later, Gracie would make the announcement that she retired due to depression and an eating disorder.

Coach troubles

2021 Daphnis
2017 Daphnis

And yet, here we are, 4 years later, with Daphnis et Chloe again, but this time, it's a triumphant return. I think this is Gracie's way of telling us that she's back, to her old form, it's like no time has passed. And furthermore, she's come to show us her wonderful Daphnis program -- properly this time.

i’m so happy Karen went back to 2A3T and 3lzeu3s

ALL of her jumps are more rotated and more convincing when she starts out the program with a nice, clean 2A3T and a beautiful, clean solo 3Lutz. and it just gives a better impression of the program overall.

a pretty good competition for Karen proving that even with her typical Karen-like mistakes, she’s a step ahead of the other US ladies (who aren’t Alysa or healthy Bradie) who have similar issues, but with less PCS and GOE

I do wish she had one more international competition to get a solid SP the with a decent 3-3 in it.

It's nice to see Lindsay pull up 3 places to 5th. A nice LP where she placed 4th in that huge field of Ladies. Things are heating up as we get closer and closer to Nationals.
Many felt she was seriously low-balled in GOE. She landed all her jumps and did all her spins beautifully.. got a L3 on her Step Sequence which perhaps should have been higher AND she did 3 axel two-footed but landed..
Some pointed out she is slow and lacks the Wow factor but perhaps these will gel later.. imv she is a lovely skater..

Yes. She is 2nd in the Eastern whatever it is
I posted in the US National forum, but I am unsure ho national spots are determined. I have attached a list of scores with one event remaining to finish

let’s give Bell a chance. It’s just her first outing….she is just warming up. Count all the events Karen and Star attended this season.

If this were september i would agree, but it’s november... obviously she will have her chances, but to upgrade her content AND skate it cleanly without many chances to compete before nationals is a big task

I think Alysa and Karen have two of the three spots right now. The real question for the US women now is whether or not Bradie will be healthy for Nationals. And if she is, what kind of shape will she be in? If she's her usual self I think the last spot is hers.

As for potential replacements if Bradie's not ready, Lindsay has been our most consistent lady this season and she's not even a senior. If she does well at the JGPF and Nationals, I'd honestly send her. The PCS isn't there yet, but she's a fantastic jumper and spinner and she seems to be a good competitor as well (as in, she doesn't seem to crack under pressure). I'm a big fan of her and I'd love to see her get an opportunity like that.
