I think she must’ve gotten reinjured. It would be better to compete one comp with only triple toes and sals than to not compete at all.

I didn't expect it to go this far. I thought it was more of a recovery, and I thought we would see her soon.I went from hoping to see Bradie at some point to now praying that it's not career ending. Poor thing. Physical injury aside, the mental toll of her slow recovery must be doing a number on her too.

That is a good point. She might have been recovering, and than reinjured herself.I think she must’ve gotten reinjured. It would be better to compete one comp with only triple toes and sals than to not compete at all.
This is what I suspect as well. The silence from her team isn't helping the situation either. A foot injury is an absolutely terrible thing to get over. Once you put your skates back on, the risk of re-injury is very high. That is a good point. She might have been recovering, and than reinjured herself.
Does this mean Bradie can't do Nationals?![]()
Sorry. I didn't realize that she gets an automatic berth for Nats. That does make sense though. I hope she will be able to go.Depends what you mean 'can't do Nationals' - as the reigning National champ she is automatically given a berth to Nationals the following year, can she physically compete aka skate do 2 programs to defend her title is a whole other question. The fact that she's withdrawn from competitions going into December makes me think the likelihood of Nationals is getting slimmer and slimmer.

I believe she has a bye straight into Nationals as the defending Champion.Does this mean Bradie can't do Nationals?![]()
That is good. I wonder who is the jumping coach for those coached by Tammy Gambil.I'm so sad for Bradie. She's a favorite a mine. Hard work usually trumps natural talent and Bradie has always proved that to be the case. Her improvement over the last quad was truly spectacular. In this case, her hardworking attitude may have contributed to the injury. I hope her foot heals before nationals. On a positive note, at least she has been to the Olympics before and already has a team medal which is realistically the best result any US woman can hope for this year.
With Bradie's injury and Alysa's sudden coaching change, there is no reliable woman the US can depend on this year imho. I would send Lindsay to another international event with less biased judging to try and improve her SBs and establish her reputation. She could possibly be the best bet in the team event if Alysa's coaching change doesn't go well. Christy Krall teaches great jump technique but I hope she doesn't try to change Alysa's technique too much before the Olympics.
I don't think she needs to radically change Alysa's technique. I just rewatched the Lombardia fs, and other than the 3a, her jumps all looked good in terms of rotation. I think that stamina issues came into play with the greater difficulty she attempted at the Grand Prixs. I really think that more intense training alone could go a long way in improving her jumps. Her 3a could further improve by increasing her entrance speed; she is already using her legs a lot more than she did pre-growty spurt.I'm so sad for Bradie. She's a favorite a mine. More transitions were also added, thereto increasing the difficulty. The Seq was worth more than doing 3lz/2t. I think this was a temp layout To maximize base value until more Ultra-Cs could be added. Her layout was not that much more difficult between NHK and Lombardia, unless the +SEQ and euler are something difficult for her to do (which if that's the case they are dumb for doing especially since the SEQ is low value)

The top 5 senior ladies, men, pairs and ice dancers at Nationals receive an automatic bye to the next year’s Nationals. There are other ways to get one as well (for example competing in 3 International comps).Sorry. I didn't realize that she gets an automatic berth for Nats. That does make sense though. I maybe missed something is it just conjecture that USFA is contemplating sending Gracie to a Challenger or Int'l competition to see if she gets the minimums to go to the Olympics and worlds? She doesn't have a lot of results for "body of work over the last while and her fs score was just over 108 which for a domestic even isn't great. Close to the tech score I believe of Valieva at her best not including pcs. What are the remaining Challenger events? Just wondering.
Golden Spin (December 8-11) is the final Challenger & the entry deadline has passed for that.I maybe missed something is it just conjecture that USFA is contemplating sending Gracie to a Challenger or Int'l competition to see if she gets the minimums to go to the Olympics and worlds? There was/is something called Santa Claus Cup in Budapest, I think it use to be in the beginning of December.
There is something called Bratislava Grand Prix in Slovakia which is planned at 17th-19th December. ...
I think Gracie should get a chance to collect minimums. If she isn´t really in the loop for OG (which I honestly are starting to believe is possible because of the current situation now with the US ladies), she at least has a good chance going to the Four Continents Championship, as they probably will be the ones who don´t go to the OG.
Edit: I just checked the ISU calender and Bratislava Grand Prix is apparently cancelled :/ But Santa Claus Cup is still planned and something called Open Belarus Cup at the same time as Bratislava Grand Prix.
