Guys, is that really so much to ask to PLEASE post the categories so I can list these skaters correctly in the OP? Many of these names ring a bell with me, but with the splitting/retiring couples, especially when it's skaters from deep fields like the US or Russia who have only briefly appeared in big senior events, it's really challenging to remember who is a pair and who is an ID couple if one isn't much into pairs and ID.
It's getting quite common that someone just pops a Russian name at me here, and expects me to either click a link in cyrillic (which I don't feel like doing), or ask posters, or look these skaters up in fanfests, if they have them. Please save my time, and since you obviously know who you're posting about, include their category as well. Thank you. 🌻
ETA, the skaters from the last two posts are edited in now, but this is a request for future posts.

I've said this before, but I really think that the very least people should do is list categories and countries as well as full names. @surimi shouldn't have to go to such lengths to figure out who the post is about so is able to keep the OP up to date. The person who posts knows, so it should be easy. And it's only considerate to give the needed information.

I wonder, though, whether people just post their information and don't read the rest of the thread, so they don't see your requests for fuller information. Maybe when you make this request, quote the post in question so the poster more readily sees it.

That is a good point.
Or maybe that info could be shown before posting, @dorispulaski ? Do you think a bolded sentence could be added to the note about errors above the posting box, saying something like 'When posting new information, please make sure to include the skater/s' full names, category and country they represent'?

I know it's been taken for granted but as of today, MTM 2.0, pairs representing Canada, have announced officially their retirement from competition.

Kirsten's retirement announcement on Instagram. Such a thoughtful post, with the lovely line: "I hope to be remembered as a good teammate; as somebody who won with class and lost with dignity."

Anastasia Skoptcova / Kirill Aleshin have both retired.

Kirill is now a coach in Mishin team, Nastya is a journalist on sport24.

That really made me sad. I liked them a lot and was looking forward to the new season with them. :(

Good luck to Kirsten and Michael in their future careers!
I'm surprised to hear of Polizoakis un-retiring, where did you hear that, @thorag ?

@surimi Thanks a lot for your overview. I'm so grateful. I hadn't much time lately to follow figure skating and have really a hard time to follow all the reference about this and that regarding retirements or forming of new teams. So with your thread all of it gets so much easier.
:points:
(should be 3 tens )

Wow, I´m excited that Joti will come back. German ice dance can need him. Last time I saw him was in the German version of dancing on ice which he won with Sarah Lombardi (German singer). I never thought that he would come back to competitions.
I'm exited too. I hope it will be Germany. Otherwise I'll be disappointed (will root for him in any way)

I hope it will be Germany, too. But I really like him and I´m just glad that he will come back.

Just cross posting here for ease of the list (and h/t to @macy for posting in the US Pairs thread)

Ashley Cain and Timothy LeDuc (USA pairs) have announced their retirement.

Will there be any pair teams left next season? :( :slink:
