What on earth? I'm floored. She just made a breakthrough last month. 😲

I don't know if Alysa's being serious or not (I didn't see the Instagram Live for myself, as I don't have an Instagram account), but this tweet and its replies have me concerned.

I really loved seeing Alysa's smiley presence on the ice during Worlds practices, I really hope she continues...😭

thank you for the post. I am very cautious when it comes to Alysa and IG Live though.

I'll believe it when I see a "permanent" post. Which may happen, but I am a suspicious sort. ;)

I can't see the post, what does it actually say???

Alysa's post (photo and text) is embedded in the thread that Minz started:

I just knew something was afoot when he wasn't sent to any B event this spring, and would be completely out of the world standings this summer. I was afraid he might do this, but there was news of his new programs so I kept hoping he'd be back. Maybe they're show programs, then.
I'll read the full tweet later, but I hope he's still planning to be a coach and we get to see him by the boards. 🤞

He is turning pro and will debut at Prince Ice World Yokohama Yokohama show on April 29. He is also going to be an assistant coach (doesn't say which coach he is working for, but maybe his current coach?). Wishing Keiji all the best!

Thank you for the info!
He may want to stay in Okayama. The Okayama rink needs a new and charismatic coach to take Hayashi's place. My hope of maybe seeing Keiji as a coach one day, lives on. :)

I'm afraid Marin Honda may be the next among the Japanese skaters to announce retirement.

Not sure if this has been previously mentioned but Isabelle Martins and Ryan Bedard (2-time Jr. US pairs silver medalists) have split. She's looking for a new partner, he's "decided to make a change and try something new" (according to Isabelle's Instagram post).

Dorota Broda (Spanish pairs skater) is on Ice Partner Search, so I'm assuming she and Pedro Betegon have also split.

ETA: Sylvia Wong and Skylar Weirens (US Jr. pair team) also appear to have split, he's on Ice Partner Search too.

Best of luck to all these skaters in the future, be it on or off the ice!

Out of curiosity, I just had a look through Ice Partnersearch.

Here are some other names on the Pairs list that jumped out at me:

  • Lana Petranović (so she is planning to continue after the retirement of her partner in Seniors for Croatia, Antonio Souza-Kordeiru)
  • Noël-Antoine Pierre (competed this season in Seniors with Coline Keriven, winning the Masters De Patinage and runners-up in French Championships)

And some names on the Ice Dance list:

  • Anastasia Galustyan (announced earlier this season that she was switching from Singles for Armenia to Ice Dance. So, I wonder if she had a partner and it has fallen though, or whether she hadn't anybody in particular lined up).
  • Danil Pak (competed this season in Juniors with Sofiya Lukinskaya for Kazakhstan, winning the Winter Star)
  • Pierre Souquet-Basiege (competed this season with Julia Wagret for France)
  • Nikita Vitryanyuk (competed this season in Juniors with Sofía Val for Spain, winning the Spanish Championships and on podium at the Ice Challenge)

EDIT: Sorry, I just had another look, and spotted that Sofía Val is up there too. When I saw Nikita's name this morning and didn't see her name, I thought she maybe had a new partner already. But, it was just me not looking carefully enough.

Hope they all find a suitable partner
