2021 Open d'Andorra

Ach, I got back late! And because the next segment is starting straight after this one finishes, I don't want to be playing catch-up. So, I'll watch the Warm-Up and Sergio SAN ROMÁN during the resurfacing that is after Group 1 of the girls.

But, I did see the aftermath of his skate. And I just loved the way his coach was giving him a big cuddle, trying to cheer him up.

:ghug: :ghug: :ghug:

Looking at the livescoring, he actually went into the lead. But, the guy that followed him, Christian VAQUERO TORO, is now leading by over 20 points. So, I think Sergio was upset because he realised he hadn't done enough to climb any places.

You all know that I have a soft spot for small Fed skaters. So, I might be a bit biased. But, I'll say it anyway.

I really like this Moroccan skater.

I don't know anything about her but, if she is still age eligible, I hope we get to see her on the Junior GP circuit next season.

:cheer: WELL DONE LINA!!! :cheer:

Oh no. The leader from the SP has hurt herself and can't finish her FS!

Talk about a dramatic ending. And not in a good way.

At least she left the ice on her own two feet.

But this is the last thing she needs just a few days before Nationals start.

Get well soon Anna.

You know, I was enjoying Clemence MAYINDU (FRA), and thinking that it is great to have another really good promising young black skater coming through. Especially since Maé-Bérénice is at that age that skaters think about retiring.

So, in that respect, I'm delighted that she has won.

It's just a pity about how she won. Nobody wants to win because of those sort of circumstances.

Hi, joining you for the Sr ID. What happened?

Don't worry, it's nothing major like we just had in the Junior Ladies. We're just waiting around for the announcer to confirm that it is Juulia TURKKILA / Matthias VERSLUIS (FIN) that have withdrawn.

There were only 3 partnerships in the Warm-Up, so we knew somebody had withdrawn. We just didn't know who.

Before I forget, thank you so much for writing a kind of blog about all the skaters here. Ireally enjoyed reading through it all @CaroLiza_fan !

I wouldn't quite say it was a blog. I didn't write about that many skaters. I start off intending to write about more but, after a while, I get bored of talking to myself, and stop.

Yay! Lilah and Lewis. Looking forward to watching their RD. And it's nice to see couples I don't really know too.

Nice to see a couple from New Zealand. I think they had a bit of a slight problem with the twizzles, but none too big.

In fact, two British partnerships in a row. Both of the skaters in the partnership representing Latvia are also British.

The opportunity to see skaters we don't know is one of the main reasons I have been concentrating on the Senior B's rather than the Senior GP's. I am getting to the stage that I enjoy watching lower profile skaters more than watching the big name skaters. (Probably because the fans of some big name skaters can get too much).

That said, I am definitely going to have to catch up on the Senior GP's before the GP Final.

As usual, Lilah and Lewis were a fun watch. And - of course - they are in first place.
I'll catch up with some of the GP's as well later. Don't want to miss out on the pairs and men!

I just realised - this is the first time I've seen Lilah and Lewis this season.

Absolutely love the music choices.

Unfortunately, all the shadows mean we are not getting the full effect of the costumes. But, I am sure that they are magnificient in better lighting.

Not an expert, but the skating looked really good too!

Oh, how I'm looking forward to seeing this in (hopefully) better conditions at Nationals next week!

New leaders (as if there was any doubt!)

That was a lot of fun too, those Latvian-Brits or British-Latvians (thanks for the info). Lower level but I don't care. Still enjoyable.

Aurelija and Luke.

Didn't like the music. Awful cover of the first song ("Work It Out"), and the second song was just boring.

The costumes looked very well, though.

There were some obvious mistakes in the skating. But, on the whole, they were good.

I'm glad that by using Aurelija's family conections they are getting the opportunity to compete internationally. They wouldn't if they had stayed with Team GB.
