2021 World Figure Skating Championships: General Info

It seems to be working with the Speed Skating bubble currently in place. A European Championships, 2 World Cups and a World championships upcoming weekend. Another example will be the Short Track WC at the beginning of March. Another bubble along the same principles. Why should it be different for FS?

I guess it shouldn't be that different, but with the Kiss and Cry, coaches, and the little things like that, I'm not 100% sure. But I guess if the ISU has already one successful bubble, then they will be more prepared for a second. But it's also a matter if it's even set up to work. How far is the hotel from the rink? If it's far how do the athletes get from the hotel to the rink and back? Is the hotel set up to have a format where towels/sheets etc. are left out for the skaters to take? There are just so many things to figure out. But I think that if it's done properly AND EVERYONE COMPLIES WITH THE RULES it just might work out.

Yes -- but as indicated at your link, what has changed is prize money for synchro. (Also indicated here.)

The ISU has not changed prize money for singles/dance/pairs.
(Please don't get me wrong: I am happy for synchro skaters. But the news would be more relevant in a synchro thread.)

I did a Skate Canada seminar the other day and Paul Porier was a guest. He said he'd just gotten new info about Worlds. He did share details, but he seemed very positive about it, so I'd assume Skate Canada is planning to send skaters to Worlds at this time.

this week Sweden will update how many people can be in Globen, with assigned places and having social distance. I have no idea how you can come from different countries, but I still have some hope to be there in person. The last weeks we had decreased cases, but they found a cluster of the mutated covid stringe this week, so I might prefer to watch from home

Thanks. I don't usually pay much attention to judging panels, so it's great to see it listed like this. What's pretty shocking is that there is no JPN judge for Men nor Ladies, but one for Dance, the discipline they're weakest in. USA gets to judge in all four disciplines, as does Russia. So Yuzu and Rika could be at a disadvantage, unless all judges forget where they come from and judge fairly (and that's not going to happen)!
