Hoping this is just temporary, but...

Frankly, I personally suspect they're done with competing. After Gabriella's candid video about the impacts of competing on her personal life, I don't think they'll ever head back to Dubreuil for competition training, whose center is swamped with new talent at the moment anyway, and I just don't see them with anyone else.

1) i agree with the sentiment that they may not return.. they will have left us a masterpiece swan song of a FD if that's the case
2) isn't guillaume already working at IAM on choreo and so on??? I don't think the amount of talent at IAM and in the field has anything to do with them not competing... seriously, they would be back on top instantly and they would get all they need to do so.

Charlotte Lafond-Fournier and Richard Kang In Kam (New Zealand ice dance team) seem to have split.
She is on Ice Partner Search. Nothing from either of them on social media, although Charlotte did post a quote from Coco Chanel on Instagram a week ago "A woman who cuts her hair is about to change her life", so read into that what you will!
And a few more interesting finds on Ice Partner Search:

One of the Spanish baby pairs who competed on the JGP, Carolina Shan Campillo Alvarez/Miguel Martos, seems to have split, he is on Ice Partner Search (His profile is set to private).

Japanese Ice Dance pair Nicole Takahashi/Shiloh Judd, current National bronze medalists, also seemingly have split, Shiloh is on Ice Partner Search.

(And one of the German baby novice dance teams has split, Anna Sarah Kroll/Robert Martynenko, both are on Ice Partner Search, though they've never competed internationally or medalled at Nationals.)

Added Kida/Morita (Japan, ID) among splits.
Small update: Nao Kida is on Ice Partner Search now, so let's hope she can find someone to partner up with soon.

I wish I knew as much as you @Jumping_Bean . But whether I know things early or not, I'm just sad,
Oh, I don't know that much, I just watched way too much skating this season, and am now vaguely familiar with a lot of names. 😅 So when I check Ice Partner Search (because I'm nosy and because there are actually a lot of really good and interesting solo dancers on Ice Partner Search, who I usually wouldn't even know about), I just stumble across all kinds of skaters 😂

Aww. I'm sad. :( Given their age, it was to be expected, but I was hoping they'd stay around for a year or two more. They are so charismatic. Wishing them the best! 🌻 Do we know what they intend to pursue from now on?
I'm sure they will skate together in ice shows. They are both former single skaters, so they can perform solo as well. There is be another Hyoen show planned for next year, so it may be their next big project.

I will miss them but was not surprised. I think it was commendable for Dai to not only come back to competitive ice but in a very different discipline and do as well as he did. Actually it was also amazing for Kana to return after losing Chris Reed. They were really fun to watch and I hope they both find happiness in their next ventures.

Links to Kana's and Dai's press conference, which will be broadcasted live in a couple of minutes:

In the press conference, they said the main reason of their retirement is Dai's right knee. He had to miss some practice, and sometimes even barely could walk. He told Kana that he was going to retire after this season before 4CC. She had decided that he was going to be her last partner, so told him she was going to retire with him, too. They told Marina right before they departed Florida to Japan before Worlds.

Dai said he would want to continue if his right knee allowed, but they both look happy because they could end their competitive career with a high note. They thanked to each other and to Marina.

They will perform at ice shows together as well as solo.
