2022 Skate Canada Challenge

Sorry for the delay, but the Senior Men LP video is larger than the SP, and thus it takes even longer to download.

Stephen Gogolev LP (720p): [Dead link]

Corey Circelli LP (720p): [Dead link]

Aleksa Rakic LP (720p): [Dead link]

ETA: It turns out that I can upload Stephen's free skate to Dailymotion, but only if I edit out the replay and most of the kiss & cry. Obviously the site doesn't like the music that plays during those sections.

The Senior Men Medal Ceremony that I've cut from the official archived livestream:

Does anyone have any recommendations as to skaters I should watch in the earlier groups of the Challenge for women? Aside from Long and Carle.

Maybe Sara-Maude Dupuis. She had the best score (by a little) of the non-Kaiya women on the JGP. And Lia Pereira later on did pretty well on the JGP also.

Leah Lee had a nice SP, scoring a 55.06. Only a 3T-2T combo, but otherwise clean (I missed the beginning, so I don't know if the 2T was planned or not), and she had nice energy.

Issues with every jumping pass for Michelle Long. She's in 2nd right now with 48.28.

Last group of junior dance is warming up right now.

Sarah Maude struggled.. i don't know .. she didn't seem as solid as before... hopefully just a bad day for her.

Junior Dance Final group
Robinson/Portz - he stumbled in one of the step sequences, and it just wasn't as sharp as their very solid JGP showing, which is a shame.
Ben Khelifa/Zhu - good skate for them.
Gauthier/Thieren - nice to see them competing after they missed the JGP series, don't know if that's the right music for them but I liked it. They'll be disappoint to miss the podium after being 3rd in the RD though.
Bashynska/Beaumont - bobble for Peter on the twizzles, and an extended lift, but otherwise good. They'll want to be sharper at Nationals, but had no real competition here.
Yu/Giang - other than the 1 foot (level 1 for both), strong skate for Yu/Giang.

okay... gabby

3t-3t huge but hand down

2a stumble

3 lutz huge, delayed rotation landed while still rotating so probably under... and fell...

but overall, a very nice presentation, strong spins and good steps. she will be in first despite all the mistakes i believe.

What is with these depressing covers? Cruel Summer was an upbeat song when Bananarama did it in the 80s.

I wonder if Gabby is going to be challenged here. Allison and Alice (she is back!) will probably be her biggest challengers. Michelle Long and Veronik are my favourites from PCS side. Too bad Michelle struggled with her jumps earlier. I hope she qualifies to Nationals.

final flight on the ice.
Gabby is still holding the lead.
Allison, Alicia and Veronik will skate back to back ...

Alison 😞; she is getting worse with every event she participates after her amazing top ten Junior Worlds performance.

Veronik attempted a triple triple! 😳 I’m so used to watching her do triple doubles. Too bad she fell on the 3Lo. Will root for Michelle and Veronik in the free skate tomorrow. Gabby is in a class of her own and looks like she is getting fitter.
