Bruce could simply go back to ice dance.... I suggest Emy Bronsard for himAgain I say Bruce Waddell should do pairs. Looks like Meagan Duhamel agrees with me in her X post.
I know Jacob Richmond disagrees but yeahFollow along with the video below to see how to install our site as a web app on your home screen.

I agree the selections are solid. I think the hardest decision would have been who to send as the second Junior lady. Hopefully a health rivalry at the Canadian Ice Academy. To me,
the selection is fine.
They are making the 3 4CC men fight off for the two worlds spots. Considering Stephen's injury it makes sense to focus on the other 3.
Aleksa isn't ready for seniors and gets assigned directly for Junior worlds with Anthony. I think it's a good decision.
For women, we know the story. Kaiya is going to YOG so no 4CC for her. They preferred keeping her "junior" in the second half of the season instead of playing the "race to tech minimums" with her.
Pairs and dance selections are respecting logic.
I am happy for Marly. I can see how some fans may be disappointed about Jazmine and Kieran but at the same time, their lack of SBS jumps and throws is just not good enough for an ISU championship. They can benefit from the time off.
Worlds selection TBA is a good idea here. I also like how they didn't bother just naming the "safe bets" for worlds... There were lots of criticism with the partial announcement.
So bravo Skate Canada... to me, that's pretty solid
Hetty is probably first alternate... so they better remain friendlyI agree the selections are solid. I think the hardest decision would have been who to send as the second Junior lady. Hopefully a health rivalry at the Canadian Ice Academy.
Pretty much exactly what I would have done. I agree with the selections, and waiting to announce the senior worlds team. I'm sure the ones who are locks for it already know that and don't need an announcement to tell them so.To me,

Yeah.. .they needed the subs for dance for sure. For pairs, it means Brooke and Ben are not going to be ready even for subbing. For women, there is almost nobody available left with minimums... so that's expected. For men, good that they named Matthew if ever something happens to the others.. At the same time, how does it work for visas ??? I wouldn't be surprised if subs were needed but didn't have enough time to get their paperwork ready. The ISU entries have the subs too for 4CC:
Men
Matthew Newnham
Ice Dance
Nadiia Bashynska / Peter Beaumont
Alicia Fabbri / Paul Ayer
Marie-Jade Lauriault / Romain LeGac
None for women or pairs. I can see them using the ice dance subs depending on the situation, it could've helped if they hadn't done the partial announcement first.
I expected Roman to be named to 4CC once he was in the gala really. I'm glad that they've held off on naming the Worlds team since situations can change quickly. Also happy with the JWC team. They're not rushing Kaiya to get her senior minimums for the sake of having the champion at a home worlds and she'll have a better result at JWC where she can help earn the JGP spots for next season.
I'm really interested in the logistics of the subs for the visas now. With Matthew/the ice dance teams, they have an advantage in that their coaches are already going to 4CC so their coaches will have visas. They must have something worked out for the sub visas. They could've named Fiona as a sub since Bruno Marcotte has a visa thanks to GPF, but I can see why they didn't.Yeah.. .they needed the subs for dance for sure. Fiona was too weak. Naming her as a sub : all that would do is to show how the others (Fée Ann or Audréanne for instance) don't have their tech minimums... and just bring more criticism.I'm really interested in the logistics of the subs for the visas now. OMG! When you mentioned surprise… I was thinking it would be a name on the Ladies list!
HAHA.. it's never over !OMG! When you mentioned surprise… I was thinking it would be a name on the Ladies list!
Wow!! My year is not over.
that's the spirit... sufferingWe can now watch both our guys compete at 4CC. We can suffer some more…..
well it that happens, I would obviously be happy... nothing against Wesley but I simply prefer getting Conrad and Roman with my very expensive tickets for worldsThey really need to improve their SB scores. I’m hoping they can score at least high 220s for GP spots next season. Also, will hope that they both beat Wesley to see them at SWC. Wouldn’t that be something? And then we can suffer and be final time![]()

What about Dana Sabantini Speciale? Nicholas would lose three years of junior eligibility if they stayed together, and their height difference is also quite something for a pairs team, much less a dance team.Bruce could simply go back to ice dance.... I suggest Emy Bronsard for himI know Jacob Richmond disagrees but yeah
The real move would be for Dana to become a pairs girl. She is super short. Nicholas is too tall for her that's for sure. I don't think Bruce wants to do pairs nor dance. I mean, at this point, considering his skating skills and partnering skills, he just isn't interested or else he would be doing it.... that's my take on it... Maybe he didn't like lifts or whatever ?What about Dana Sabantini Speciale? Stephen didn't want to go to JWC last year. He preferred being in the running for a world spot. He didn't get it.If they really want JWC spots, Stephen or Wesley could probably win JWC on a good day. Having a good day is a big ask, but it's an option since the junior men's field isn't really deep or consistent right now. I wonder if Stephen is still in the running for Senior WC.
FYI. I was a bit upset with Roman’s free skate. I clapped when he landed the 3Lz 3T… gasped when he popped his 4S to a 2S, but, clapped when I saw him add the 2A as a combo. Then, was confused when I saw him land the 3Lo so easily and then add a eu to a 3S where he fell… I don’t know if this is a combo I approve of as the 3Lo eu to 3S required too much rotation. It is better for him to do a 3Lz eu 3S instead. Or 2A eu 3SHAHA.. it's never over !

Stephen doesn't have the junior minimums anymore and I don't think he'd be in shape to get them after his performance on Friday. He needs to sit the rest of the season out, his health is more important than results at a championship. If they really want JWC spots, Stephen or Wesley could probably win JWC on a good day. Roman is a cat... nine lives... I am not sure how many he has used up already. Honestly, I have no idea about his combos at this point... His program was a hot mess ! Let's hope the skaters appreciate the trust Skate Canada has put into them and use it.FYI. I was a bit upset with Roman’s free skate. Instead. I wish I was his coach. Leave the 3Lo alone as a single jump. Then, I saw him go for a 2A and was glad… but, thought, why didn’t you do the eu 3S here….. and I was getting angry
Then, second half… the 4S fall, I was glad he tried though. But, then remembered with his popped 4S, he can add another triple instead to his combo instead of just a 2T. When he landed a rough 3Lz, it’s fine. But, then he just went for a 3F and forgot to add the 3T (I would have been okay with just a 2T)… I thought, you need to fight for as many points as possible.
Then, when Matthew beat Roman by less than two points, I thought he could have finished 5th ahead of Matthew… if he can just think on his feet.
Skate Canada really does love Roman!! Our federation gets a +1 from me now. He has one more life line now…
