Yeah.. I never watch Dave either but I'd be curious to know what Meagan had to say... Probably the same as what we said : get the skaters out more often... Don't do partial 4cc assignment... etc

:)

Her rants were on par with Nam and @4everchan; if I were you, I’d listen to it! You’ll enjoy it!!

Main point she tries to make, when Dave doesn’t cut her off, is that they need more international assignments.
ok... well.. we make that rant every other day on this forum.. So I will save myself from it ;) especially if accompanied by mr lease ill comments on our skaters who are doing their best within the poor circumstances they are facing

She had a few more comments as well, although they may be related.

Lack of assignments doesn't just hurt elite athletes. She told a story of how parents go through extraordinary measures to try to get their children into local competitions, but they're capped and spots are taken within minutes. Children get discouraged, parents don't get to see their children compete... and they drift to sports with more opportunities.

She spoke about how cost prohibitive nationals was for locals. She said that Skate Canada didn't make an effort to reach out to local skating clubs/rinks. Her point was that even if they had to give the tickets away to local skating enthusiasts, it would have yielded larger audiences and promoted the sport in a major Canadian city. Young enthusiastic fans and their families would have been miles better for everyone than an empty arena. They certainly had notice of extremely poor ticket sales, and yet didn't do anything about it.

two valid points

BTW : i have attended events in Pierrefonds where a bunch of kids from various skating clubs were invited. So Meagan is right that they could have done the same with local skating clubs for Calgary Nationals.

Since we were talking about portmanteau names.. maybe Lale can be Pink Bride or Corpse Panther... Pink Corpse is very spooky but Bride panther may work
