I’m really looking forward to watching the Novice Girls. Specifically, Lia Cho. The top three (Lia, Sandrine, Ksenia) from Pre-Novice all caught my eye last year and all three of these girls won their respective Sectionals. Gives me some hope for the Canadian Ladies for the future.I'll probably check out some of it after, especially Pre-Novice Ice DanceSugino/Marr are competing, and it looks like there's another same-gender team also competing in that category.
Skate Canada posted an Instagram reel of Sugino/Marr too![]()
Happy for Matthew. He placed higher than Romsky at Nationals. So, even though I was happy Roman got the 4CC slot, I can stop feeling guilty now that Matthew has this event to train for.Challenge Cup entries are up. Matthew Newnham and Lajoie/Lagha are entered, which is good.
But they couldn't enter any women. Even after Fee Ann scored 180+ at Challenge.
I hope there's a skate-off for the SCI spot next season if they don't send Fee Ann to Coupe du Printemps if they're sending skaters again this season (Challenge Cup would make more sense since it's before the TES deadlines for Worlds and she might have been able to get them here, but I digress.)Finally, I’m so upset about Fee Ann. She came in 5th (just like Matthew). She is our third best Senior lady right now and she isn’t even given an event. I was really hoping she could get one more event, score 160+ and then get chosen to compete at Skate Canada next year. But, I guess she will be given the Fiona treatment this year.
Audreanne Foster… I don’t expect her to get anything. She might get Cranberry or Kings next season![]()
I absolutely think they should be sending more skaters, but I'm betting it's about finances, sadly.I cannot believe that Skate Canada is only sending LaLa and Matthew there...
Justice for F/A, Audréanne and Fée Ann... Seriously !
I'm so hoping that's what their inclusion means, that they are expected to be competition ready.Lajoie/Lagha
This means that they must expect to recover by this event and need the practice. So, I hope this means we might see them at Worlds this year.
Hoping for a largish contingent being sent to Printemps, as happened last year.I cannot believe that Skate Canada is only sending LaLa and Matthew there...
Justice for F/A, Audréanne and Fée Ann... Seriously !
My viewing schedule for the next week:The entry list is now available for the Pre-Novice / Novice Challenger event.
I’m looking forward to this event!! But, will be difficult to follow along with Youth Olympics and 4CC, at the same time.

the only place is Canada who does it right is Saskatchewan... I am so done with changing the time. No, Alberta is an hour behind Saskatchewan in the winter. We are the same again when the rest of Canada springs ahead in March. Saskatchewan keeps the same time year-round.
