What is this music?! Some sort of Turkish-Irish mash-up?!

Yet, weirdly, I liked it!

Actually, it is "Night At The Caravanserai" by Ma Yo-Yo. So, neither Turkish nor Irish. :slink:

Furkan Emre INCEL (TUR) goes into 6th.

Well, it was a good evening in the company of feisty Turkish boys and a few sons, I'm quite pleased. See you on free skating!

Drat! I thought it started at half past the hour today. But it actually started at the top of the hour. So we are 35 minutes into the competition now.

Well, with only getting up at 5 to the hour, I wouldn't have been able to get everything set up in time for the start anyway.

Anyway, we have the same running order as yesterday. So we start with an Advanced Novice double-bill. 35 girls; followed by 7 boys. The girls are arranged into three groups of 7; followed by a resurfacing; followed by two groups of 7.

Livestream for Advanced Novice Ladies FS is now on air.

I forgot to say that, after missing Stefania Gladki yesterday due to skipping her group for dinner and winding back to it at the end of the day only or a copyright claim to be slapped on the stream, I decided to not take any chances and wound back and watched from the start this morning.

Just reached skater #21 Duru KOSE (TUR), and I am mad because we lost the picture for a chunk of her programme. And she actually did really well. What we did see looked really good. The audience were applauding her very enthusiastically when she finished, and she got lots of cuddly toys.

The atmosphere waiting for her scores was very good. There were 5 of them sitting there. And the celebrations when her scores came up were lively!

:cheer:   :party2: :points: :hb:

She went into 2nd in the FS, and 1st overall.

And I just peaked at the livescoring page, and she is still in those positions half an hour later!

But we missed most of the first half of the programme!

Pretty K&C area with all the flowers!

Right, I just reached skater #26 Zeynep Tuana KIZEK (TUR) getting her scores, and while she and her caoch sat on the sofa, there were a boy and a girl standing alongside (I assume they are fellow skaters). And the girl was wearing a bum-bag in the shape of a kangaroo!

🦘

India NETTE / Eron WESTWOOD (AUS) are entered in Senior Ice Dance. I bet they would love that! ;)

EDIT: I just wound back the LIVE copy of the stream during the Group 5 Warm-Up to satisfy myself that it wasn't actually India and Eron with her, and it wasn't. But while there, I also made a discovery. It wasn't actually a bum-bag; it was just a normal cuddly toy. It was just the way that the girl was holding it that made it look like a bum-bag.

Don't move! We now complete the Advanced Novice competitions with a group of 7 boys.

I'm actually further behind now because of breakfast and getting washed. But with them having an hour-long dinner break after the Advanced Novices, I should be caught up before the Juniors start.

Livestream for Advanced Novice Men's FS is now on air.

That was unfortunate. After the first skater in the last group of girls, skater #29 Valeriya NAM (KAZ), got her scores, the camera stayed looking at the empty sofa after she left. And in the background, we could hear the familiar sound of "Bolero" playing. So we missed the start of skater #30, Bella AYDIN (TUR). Thankfully they eventually realised.

And guess what? Aydin went into the lead of both FS and overall! :palmf:

What a celebration from the final skater, Deniz TARIM (TUR), and her coach when it was announced that she had won!

:cheer:   :party2: :points: :hb:

By the way, an update on the two skaters that I mentioned for having missed parts of the programmes:

  • Duru KOSE (TUR) was 21st in the SP and 14th in the FS, which meant that she climbed 6 positions to 15th overall.
  • Bella AYDIN (TUR) was 6th in the SP and 🥉 3rd in the FS, which meant that she climbed 1 position to 5th overall.

Isn't that just our luck! :rolleye:

Right, caught up now in time for the start of the Junior FS double-bill. 35 girls; followed by 12 boys. The girls are arranged into a group of 5; followed by two groups of 6; followed by a resurfacing; followed by three groups of 6.

Alissa Margrethe Troxler AARØE (NOR) skating to "Dernière Danse" by Indila. Boys, but I love that song!

She goes into 2nd in the FS and overall.

Please forgive me, @norwegianfairytale. But, I just had a thought.

Imagine if Sondre decided to come out of retirement to form a Pairs partnership with Alissa.

We'd have Bøe and Aarøe!!!

Erm, we lost the audio on the stream when the announcer was starting to tell the skaters that there was 1 minute of the Warm-Up remaining. And it hasn't returned.

Defne Günce KILIÇ (TUR) is currently skating to the sound of silence. And unfortunately, I don't mean the song.

CaroLiza_fan

Ah good. The audio returned towards the end of her programme.

Thank you to whoever fixed it!  :points:

:thank:

CaroLiza_fan

Defne Günce KILIÇ (TUR) seemed disappointed with her score.

She goes into 2nd in the FS and overall.

And then on came the skater that was crying yesterday, Michaela MALKOVA (CZE). :drama:

I hope she is happier with how she gets on today. I don't want two disappointed skaters in a row.

It's a James Bond programme. And it looked alright to me.

She does look disappointed waiting for her scores. But, at least it's not got as far as tears.

She goes into the lead of the FS and overall. But still doesn't look thrilled.

CaroLiza_fan

The girl that followed, Yagmur Derin KEVINC (TUR), didn't have a great skate. Three falls says it all.

This is the girl that is being choreographed by Sotskova and Popova.

She went into 10th in the FS, and 5th overall.

CaroLiza_fan

Awww, there were SEVEN people with Selin AKBULUT (TUR) in the area when waiting for her results!

It was very reminiscent of the crowds we get for the little girls skating in competitions in Estonia.

She went into 5th in the FS, and 3rd overall. But they seemed happy enough.

CaroLiza_fan

Her FS music this season might be a racket, but I love Zhasmin SHLAGA (KGZ)!!!

She's not scared to do something different. (And I chose those words deliberately, because she loves scary themes!)

And a cartwheel at the very end into the ending pose! 🤸‍♀️

Except that I know from past experience with Aiza Mambekova (KAZ) that it is very difficult to find out information about skaters from the Central Asian Republics and then keep track of them, I am getting seriously tempted to adopt her.

She goes into 3rd in the FS, and 2nd in the SP.

CaroLiza_fan

Oh. My. Goodness!!!

I just discovered that Zhasmin has the same birthday as me!!! :jaw:

I think the universe is trying to tell me something! ;)

CaroLiza_fan

I think Nikola FOMCHENKOVA (LAT) may just have redeemed herself after yesterday. And assured herself of a podium position.

But, I think she will need mistakes from the two ahead of her if she is to really get in the mix.

No! She has dropped! 😲

Into 6th in the FS, and 4th overall.

Shows you what I know! :p
