From 1992 World Juniors - Rocker Foxtrot by World Junior Champions Marina Anissina & Ilia AverbukhAs far the juniors go, they still have a pattern dance. This year it is the Rocker Foxtrot, a dance I have never seen done in junior or senior competition; it is occasionally seen in Novice. I have never seen it done with defined key points being graded. Looking at the protocols, the kids were missing the key points.
Here is the step description of the dance:
And the Key point 2 in sequence 1 and Key point 1 in sequence 2 have been recently changed , as of ISU Communication 2569. They are now:

Note:
- Push/Transition to the next step: A change of edge within the last 1⁄2 a beat of the step is permitted to prepare the push/transition to the next step
- 2RF: Correct Hold for 2RF during the Key Points is any recognizable Dance Hold excluding Hand in Hand. Variation of Hold is permitted during the steps which are not Key Points.
I am not sure how to think about that. I presume it is one of the easier patterns. Does it give a boost to younger juniors because they have danced it competitively more recently? Does it favor more experienced teams?
It will be interesting.

And—I, who was there live, would have had the Mullens ahead of the Peals. Peals FD felt just a bit safe, while the Mullens skated like they had nothing to lose. I hope their third here will persuade USFS to give them a chance on the JGP!Junior International final result
Mullens pull ahead of Carhart/Horovyi
