Well the stream went closed quickly.

That's what I hate about Fazeway. They sell the performance videos, so they take the livestream private as soon as the broadcast ends. And if you are playing catch-up, playback stops the moment the video is taken private. It doesn't even let you continue watching to the end. :drama:

I got caught out yesterday. I had hoped to get to the end of the Junior Ladies SP before the video went private, but it happened when I had 3 skaters to go. So, I put off what I had to do tonight to make sure I got to the end of their FS before it disappeared. And I managed to do it just in time.

After taking too long to do stuff during the resurfacing I'm still in the final group of the Cubs B girls. But, I just wanted to say that I am so happy that social distancing during the pandemic hasn't destroyed what I love about the Estonian competitions.

The little girls are back to being able to show their support for each other. Most of the girls had at least one of their team-mates with them for getting their results. But, it was usually 2 or 3 team-mates accompanying the skater!

EDIT: Awwww!!! The very last little girl in Cubs B had a coach and FIVE team-mates sitting with her! 😲 Unfortunately, she only went into 30th position. 😞

I remember one girl in particular who had 3 of her team-mates with her. Their coach was away with the next skater, so one of the little girls took on her role. She dressed the girl that had just come off the ice; and she looked after a massive bunch of flowers that had been presented.

It was just so cute to watch!

Mmmm. The first group of Advanced Novices were a bit too keen to get started their warm-up. :p

As soon as the announcer started speaking, they shot out onto the ice. But, the announcer only said a short sentence, which I think was for the audience. So the skaters went straight back to the gate. That said, they didn't leave the ice; they just congregated around the gate until they got their call.

Why was there a big long gap between the end of the Group 2 Warm-Up, and Kristina KACHKINA (EST) starting her programme?

It was so long that I thought that 2 or 3 skaters at the start of the group had withdrawn. But it turned out that the skater that was looking lost trying to pass the time going around the rink was actually scheduled to be the first to skate.

Perhaps they were having technical problems. I know the livescoring hasn't been working today. But, it still isn't working, so if they took a break to try to fix it, they were not successful.

Now that I'm caught up and can look at it properly again, I see the livescoring is now working.

The results of the Cubs B competition from earlier on are now up as well.

Awwww. Skater #34, Eva LAMPPU (FIN), couldn't stop crying after her programme. Well, she did have 3 falls.

:ghug:

She goes into 29th position. But, despite being the skater with the most points deducted, she has 4 other skaters behind her. Including 2 other Finns (one of whom is from the same club). And she is less than 5 points behind the girl currently in 15th position. So, it's not a total disaster. She can potentially move up considerably in the FS.

I think Katarina KALME (EST) had the biggest crowd I've seen yet. 😲

There was 8 of them: herself, her coach, 5 team-mates, and a toddler.

She went into 16th position.

Then when the next girl, Vera VAINDORF (SWE), was introduced, there was loud chanting from the audience (I suspect it was her team-mates).

She went into 20th position.

As I say, I love the support that the skaters get in these Estonian competitions!

We take a break from the girls to have a boys triple-bill. Although, that said, there are just 2 groups. A group of 5 Advanced Novices doing their SP; followed by a group containing 6 Basic Novices and then 2 Intermediate Novices, who are all doing their FS.

Livestream for the Advanced Novice Men's SP is now on air.

This is something different. Federico BERRUTO (ITA) is wearing shorts. Brown shorts, with the sort of white shirt that was worn back in the days of pirates / Don Quixote / etc.

Although, the look is kinda spoiled by the fact that he is wearing full length black leggings underneath the shorts.

Come on, man! Shorts and leggings?! It's one or the other. Not both!

He goes into 3rd and last position. But there are still 2 to go.

Oh, the last of the Advanced Novice boys, Janis ZNOTINSH (LAT), has withdrawn. So, we had an unscheduled break of a few minutes.

We continue our boys triple-bill with a combined group, which contains 6 Basic Novices and then 2 Intermediate Novices.

And to end Day 3, we stay with the Intermediate Novices, but move to the girls. There's a few more than the 2 boys we just had! 28 girls, arranged into four groups of 7. Resurfacing at the end of Group 2 (which will probably be when I leave for food).

Livestream for the Intermediate Novice Ladies FS is now on air.

Wow! I just looked at the start order, and we do not get the first Estonian until Skater #9! :jaw:

Apart from Skater #2, who is from Sweden, this opening group is completely Finnish. And they are all from the Espoo club. So, I hope to see the number of skaters congregating in the results area increasing as the group goes on! ;)

There are 15 Finns entered in total, and only 9 Estonians. In fact, there are more skaters in this competition from the Espoo club alone (11) than there are from the host country! 😲

The first Finn to skate who is not from Espoo will be the second skater in Group 2, Skater #8, who is the first of 3 skaters from the Lappeenranta club (the other two are in Group 3).

That was disappointing. We did not get a clatter of Finnish girls congregating in the results area.

The first 3 Espoo girls only had the coach sitting with them.

Skater #5 had no coach sitting with her, but instead had Skater #3 as company.

Skater #6 had the coach as well as Skaters #3 and #5 sitting with her. And I thought "Aha! It will start building up now!"

But then Skater #7 had nobody at all sitting with her. 😞

Into Group 2, and Skater #8 had the coach and Skater #7 sitting with her. And boys but the two wee girls were having a great time chattering away to each other!

The last of this run of Finnish skaters was from a different club, so she just had her own coach.

The Espoo girls are currently occupying 1st (Skater #3); 3rd to 7th; and 9th positions. The other Finn is in 2nd, while the Swede is in 8th.

There are still 4 Espoo girls to skate, and all of them will be in the final group. So, it will be interesting to see if any of the Espoo girls that have already skated make an appearance then.

Now, for the first of 3 Estonian girls in this group. But, they are all from different clubs.

Now, that's more like it.

The third of the Estonian skaters to go, Skater #13, had her coach and 4 team-mates with her. She is actually the only skater from the GLISS club in this competition, but earlier today they had a girl competing in Advanced Novices, and two girls competing in Cubs. There was supposed to be three competing in Cubs, but one withdrew. And given that one of the girls sitting with Skater #13 was wrapped up in a blanket, I suspect she was the one that withdrew.

She goes into 3rd position to become top Estonian.

Skater #17 is the first of 3 skaters from the Arabesk club in this group. And boys but she had a crowd with her.

There were EIGHT of them sitting on the sofa! :jaw: Herself, the coach and SIX team-mates! It was so crowded that one girl had to sit on another's knee! :drama:

I can imagine there being TEN of them in there by the time the third skater from the club has her turn.

And on that note, I am leaving for my tea. But, I will pause the stream and attempt to play catch-up. Because I want to know if it does happen!

Yep, the Arabesk party is continuing! :party2:

The coach wasn't there because she was looking after Skater #21, but when Skater #20 was getting her scores, there were EIGHT on the sofa. Herself and SEVEN team-mates.

Two of the girls were sitting on other girl's knees this time.

There was a funny moment because they all decided to do that heat over the head thing with their arms. And the smallest girl, who was sitting on another girl's knee, fell off! But, she was quickly back on her feet and back into position.

And then the stream went private when I was in the middle of watching Skater #21's programme.   So, I didn't get to find out how many was on the sofa for her. 😞 But, I suspect it may well have been 10 - the ones that were already there, plus her and the coach.

If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times - I love the camaraderie between the Estonian skaters!

Good morning, and I have managed to get here in time for the start of the final day of the Talink Hotels Cup. And it is the longest day of the event.

I've never seen that happen before.

The announcer started speaking and, like yesterday, the skaters came out onto the ice. When they realised that the announcer was just introducing the judges, they congregated around the gate, waiting to be let loose on their warm-up.

After a long wait (ironically, roughly the same length of time the Warm-Up is!) they were told to leave the ice, that there was going to be a resurfacing, and that the competition would now start at quarter past the hour.
