2023 U.S. Nationals Sr. Men's Free Skate

Heh, the crowd loved it. He skated this program last time in an empty arena so it’s nice to hear a response when this is skated clean. He was very hesitant. Too much telegraphing with the jumps. The choregraphic sequence is fun, though. Glad he had a great skate after last year’s withdrawal.

Amazing height on his two quads! However, his combos are atrocious and gives away the lead his quads gave him. The second half was lack lustre minus the Elvis performance bit…

No, Nielsen has just aged out of the junior level. I would give it one more year to see if the quads are going to start happening if not then I think that he needs to really have a pairs coach to an evaluation to see if he would fit in there. I really like him and just because I think might fit better fit for the pairs ranks does not mean that he is not good skater he is. I just think that if quads are not going to happen that he should go to place where he will be more successful, and let's face it the US needs more men in pair figure skating because many women quit for lack of a partner.

I loved Yaro the first time I saw that Elvis program. I just wish he could work in some cool transitions and more of that Elvis attitude before the very end of the program. He's got it, but just doesn't seem to want to show it before he's finished with his jumps.

And wasn't he off the music in sections of this program?
