2023 U.S. Nationals Sr. Men's Free Skate

Good job Ilia.
Don’t be sad! 4 of the hardest quad single jumps and you landed three of them.
Also, the 3Lz 3A 3T was the ballsiest and badest combo I have ever seen. Amazing!
Andrew deserves to win the free skate. Ilia deserves third and first overall

Even with several mistakes, Ilia is still technically superb, and I look forward to seeing him continue to improve.

That being said, I would strongly suggest his coaching team contact Samuel Mindra's choreographers and hire them to create next season's programs. Or even replace the current ones before Worlds.

Well I said he looked really nervous in the warmup. Not sure tech better than Andrew. That 4A with deduction earned about as much as a good 2A. He skated with no life or will. What is going on???

That’s the most “off” I’ve seen Ilia skate all year, and judging by the score box, a few “skiddy” landings didn’t get called either. But still, a remarkable young man. And his skating skills, spins, etc., aren’t even all that bad, which is unusual for power jumpers like this!
