Why is my post about withdrawals showing a smiley face?! I'm sure I'd added a sad one... Apologies if anyone thought I was happy about the withdrawals - I'm not!!!

Events page was updated for Denis Ten Memorial. They're only listing Aleksa and Hensen/Lickers for entries.

I'll take that as a sign that Fournier-Beaudry/Soerensen are withdrawing for Shanghai Trophy. But I really hope not listing Kaiya or Uliana is a mistake like forgetting to add Fee Ann to Trophy Metropole was last season.

Robert Brodie interviews Lia/Trennt:

The duo’s new free program, which has yet to be unveiled, will be performed to a medley of tango music. “Really different from the swing and different from last year. We’re still trying to push different styles of music, so we really like that program as well,” said Pereira. We worked again with Ice Academy of Montreal in London, with Adrian (Diaz), Scott (Moir) and Maddie (Hubbell). So we really enjoyed that process as well. Again, like we said, new lifts and new entries and just a different take on performance.”

That's a shame. They must feel that your other pairs e.g. Fiona and Ben aren't ready yet.
What bothers me about it is that they have Bombardier/Mimar and Carignan/Pierro competing next week at SGE. Carignan/Pierro withdrew at CQE, so they weren't able to compete for the spot there. They could be ready, but it's too late now. Schmitz/Eberl have SaskSkate in October, so too late for consideration in my opinion.

I hope all three teams have great skates that will get them Challenger assignments.

Was there maybe a deadline for making the decision?

From the announcement, entries by name are due September 27.

In which case, they could've had a skate off at High Performance Camp instead if they wanted to make sure the choice was done before that deadline. There were other options instead of giving up the spot :(

I think Gogo was entered for a different challenger (?Nebelhorn) and withdrew? He may not be fit again yet.

Budapest Trophy entries:

Women
Madeline Schizas

Ice Dance
Lajoie/Lagha

No men are entered, so likely no Challenger for Gogolev before SCI. Maddie is also maxed out on Challengers and can't do any more after Budapest.
Wow! Maddie has Cranberry, this weekend and now Budapest.
Praying for good entries for the French Challenger.
Also, nice to see my favourite Canadian dance team, here, at this event

He was supposed to be at Nebelhorn. Skate Ontario even wished him good luck in their Instagram post 😭

It could've been a scheduling conflict too. But with his history, I was thinking that too.

Sara-Maude already had the CTES (just got over 90), but she would have gotten the old SP minimums here :love2:. So increased it for this season and a new PB!

I couldn't watch live, I'm so happy I decided to buy the stream now :bsplit:
