I have my theory but it is speculative, so there is no reason to share it tbh. I hope he finds what he needs in sport or elsewhere, but I doubt it is possible if he stays in Russia.

Analyzing the St. Petersburg team list, I saw that Sofia Aleksova was paired with Dmitriy Gladnev. Quite a strange choice, but..... Dmitriy is two years younger and has a first sport category (in junior men's singles, I guess).

As a junior in men's singles, he was trained by Kirill Davydenko and didn't show any results worth talking about. He probably decided to restart his ice dancing career at least for a few seasons.

Analyzing the St. Petersburg team list, I saw that Sofia Aleksova was paired with Dmitriy Gladnev. Quite a strange choice, but..... Dmitriy is two years younger and has a first sport category (in junior men's singles, I guess).

They already made a debut in the end of the season. Looked weak so far.

Shinkarenko has switched to Krylova and is skating with Mikhail Antonov, the former partner of Polina Usova.

Angelopol is trying out with former single skater Daria Kareva.
