They didn't compete last season and Yulia still hasn't been cleared for competitions (maybe even trainings, it's a heart issue after all). With the number of new Seniors and Junior teams that competed well last season, there simply isn't space for them under these circumstances.

Eteri's team hired Stanislav Morozov to work with B/K.

I have doubts about his expertise to work with a top pairs team.

I suppose she will move from singles completely. Pity, she is such a beautiful skater, but she probably came to a conclusion that in pairs she has bigger chance.

Kunitsa's CMS caterogy is about to expire, and he hasn't received the MS category. Because of this, he needs to compete with someone.

Apparently, Kostornaya/Kunitsa really do plan to return later, because otherwise he wouldn't have to worry about his sports category.
