2024-25 Russian Local Events – Discussion

She stabilized her quads through the season a lot. At the start she was barely able to deliver one clean quad.

I don't think she's equal to Margo for PCS, but she deserves the lead with the SP advantage. Another new star in figure skating.
Margo should definitely have received several points more for PCS, but that's unfortunately the punishment for starting so early.

Arina delivered very well, best skate without any ultra-c. I am really curious if the remains in singles or moves to pairs.

Vika 4S+2T, 3A, 4S,, 3Lo step-out, 4T fall, 3Lz+2A+2A, 3Lz+3T. Will that be enough for Stotskaya? She had big margin from SP.

Edit: No, Stotskaya may gain her first big victory.

Once again the level of Russian girls is insane.

Poor Margo remained 4th but what a jump from 24th place.

Great skate Pleskachova well done that was brilliant. I thought Margo had done enough but there were some great performances. Girls jumping three quads cleanly.

That was a high quality competition.

I see only five girls after the ceremony, so it means Moscow has only 5 places at the Russian Championship older age? Brutal.

probably not unless they changed the rules, since Sonya S competed here last year despite being born in the 2nd half of 2012
OK, on Insta someone told me that they really have to turn 11 before July 1st, that's why Korchazhnikova and Dokukina were not there. That doesn't explain Solntseva and others though.

It's strange that Sonya was allowed to compete here last season, then, given that she wouldn't have been 11 before July 1st 2023...I'm pretty sure the two of them were initially on the entry list as well, so if that's a rule, it must not have been a known one. Maybe they added that rule this year due to the sheer number of entries? I suppose it would make sense, since those turning 12 after July 1st won't be junior eligible

Maybe she was a member of national team?
