2024-25 Russian Local Events – Discussion

Polina 😭 hopefully she does better at senior moscow championship...and they did her dirty with the pcs here

Vikaaa!!!
4S+2T like nothing. 3A. 4S. 4T step-out but was there. She is a pirate!!! :points::clap::clap::clap:
Honestly, I believe she is better than Margo, she has better skating skills and personality on the ice. Also, her jumps have a it more power than other ultra-c's. She has it ALL. But so many outstanding girls today. My Goodness.

It is very risky without ultra-c. Sarafanova I think is the only qualified without it.
Sonya didn't do one here either. Unfortunately for Polina, her score after the elements probably wasn't high enough for her to qualify even if she'd gone clean here. Honestly, the scores Sarafanova gets is what Polina should be getting :shrug:

Pity, she had great Moscow qualifications last year, but this competition did not go well for her. Though we know that the next qualification for older nationals can be completely different and that is the more important one.

True. The elements section here does make a difference. I think she'll do better at the next one

I wonder if it's possible for Polina to get an ultra-c jump...she's going to need one
I'm afraid girls in Panova's team have very limited chances to get ultra-c. Lidia has 3A and tried 4S already but they would need someone to hold the harness for them in training.

Not that it matters because she won anyway, but is there any reason why Anastasia Shestakova's second 3F was invalidated?
She had 6 jumping passes as allowed, included an Axel-type jump in the form of a 3F+2A+2A and only repeated two triples.
Or is the 2A considered a triple for Zayak-rule purposes at this level? If so, that should be an easy fix, but a silly mistake to make in the program planning.

No one else atempted a 2x2A sequence while repeating 2 other triples so I think thats why she Zayaked but I swear that wasn't something a skater would Zayak for in novices last season.

I think that's exactly it (as in 2A being counted as a "triple" for Zayak purposes) as Aneliya Fayzullina had a similar layout to Anastasia (repeating 3F & 3Lz, with a +2A+2A sequence) at Volkov Memorial and her last 2A was also invalidated.
It's definitely not a rule for the older two age groups of Novices, but I'm not sure if it was for the youngest group last season already.

It was like this in the younger age before. And I remember it failed someone last season but I simply can't find.
