If pre-competition announcement is definite, it looks like nothing is allowed on the ice, even gifts.

From what I've heard: Lewis hit her only by his boot/leg, not edge, she has a bruise/swelling and they were supposed to evaluate her. I expect to see them on the practice today, will try to report there if the are present!

ID practices will start at 9.50. At the latest then we will find out if Lilah and Lewis can skate. Hoping for the best! I enjoyed RDs in practices a lot so I am looking forward to a great competition today.
Some changes had been made in the arrangements. Influences from Lithuania? The idea of a mascot is from Japan of course. Kids loved it, lots of hugs and pictures were taken. The host was a bit of a showman. At the beginning of each competition, a countdown appeared on the screen and the name of each skater before the skate. At least I don´t remember anything like this happening before. There was also a playground for the children where they could do various figure skating exercises. The Finnish federation announced that it will change its name to Skating Finland and will start attracting more enthusiasts to the sport.
Skating wise too bad that Lindsay, Mai and also Rino were unlucky in the competition. The practices went really well for them. Mai's step sequence and spins, Kazuki's program, especially his step sequence and of course Yuma were the biggest highlights of the evening for me but I enjoyed so many performances. I think Jun's score went surprisingly low considering how great his performance looked like. It was great to see that Janna and Lara Naki were fired up to perform in the competition and Nella and Olivia also shone. Hoping for better luck to men in general for FS!
Today there will probably be lots of young skaters in the audience because the Fan-day is here. So expect a lots of cheering!

So, I went for dinner to the Nepalese restaurant today, and it was really delicious! I definitely second the recommendation, if someone here is looking for a restaurant near the venue tomorrow. The only thing I was sorry about was that I don't have two stomachs
Everyone in 'Mountain' was ordering some dessert, likely ice cream, and mango lassi, while I couldn't even finish my main dish, to my great regret.Also, the total lack of venue inspections for food and drink (and age of visitors) was a really pleasant surprise, and saved me from headaches as I could bring in my favorite flavored/vitamin waters, Novelle I think they're called.
Out of curiosity, what are the tipping policies in Finland? Because the staff in Subway refused to accept any tip, and two other folk didn't understand what I meant when I said 'That's okay' when paying in cash, and I had to explain when they started returning the change to me. I had no issues with folk misunderstanding my phrase elsewhere, but I guess that I'll stick to 'you can keep the change' for the rest of my stay here.

Yes. They trust to audience especially us older people. But if you go to national ice hockey game they check pockets and bags from absolutely everybody.
Most of the time we don't tip here. In some places if you pay by card there is an option to tip. In some places there are some kind of bowls where you can put coins. But it is voluntary. The waitressess do not get the money for themselves. Mostly the extra money goes for the whole personal and they do something nice together at their free time.
