2024 JGP Solidarity Cup Pairs FS

I've been trying to work out the possible GPF qualification permutations. With Rolland/Lacasse and Holichenko/Darneskyi only doing the one event, I think the current top 4 in the standings have qualified plus Zhang/Huang unless they have a disaster skate. Quatrocchi/Desmaris also qualify unless Carpenter/Maravilla win.

Like his bauer, pulling her into spiral. Lovely field move to lovely music from Legends of the Fall

i prefer the original Little Mermaid too btw, but among my favourite there were the Snow Queen and the Wild Swan (that is actually a medieval legend) but my absolute favourite was The Tinderbox
Absolutely golden choices, I remember reading The Wild Swans and being obsessed with the question of "How would a person with a swan wing for an arm live their life??"

i was wondering why she kept the king after he almost had her burned at the stake as a witch...i mean...i would have left with my 11 brothers and to hell with him

Oh, my mom read me Wild Swan when I was very very little. I pittied them all and thought the king was idiot...

Little girl Ichat was actually fascinated with those kinds of tales, the ones that are sad and bittersweet. I preferred Andersen's original The Little Mermaid with all the pain, suffering, hair-shaving, and air sprites to the Disney version (despite how much I loved Under The Sea like any other child) for instance. My favorite stories are from Oscar Wilde though, The Nightingale and the Rose 🥰🥰
Oscar Wilde found The Little Mermaid too cheerful, so he wrote The Fisherman and His Soul, giving the love between a mermaid and a man an even sadder spin. Of course, it's my favourite fairytale by him.

Oh dear she is stepping out of her landings today. They look so lovely and have gained so much confidence from doing the JGP though so I am happy for them. Her dress is gorgeous and he presents her so nicely.

Ah fairy tales, where women are incapable of even thinking about the concept of divorce

That was nice. Why on earth weren't they given two spots...? (Yes, Skate Canada, I'm looking at you...)
Skate Canada is lucky they had a couple mistakes keeping them down the rankings you know... because imagine if they stayed up there or got a medal.... JGP is the place to learn.... Skate Canada doesn't send the skaters, then they age out, they have no experience and then Skate Canada has to give away its host spot for seniors.... ugh

My top two Oscar Wilde stories are The Nightingale and the Rose and The Fisherman and His Soul! As I said, little girl Ichat loved those bittersweet tales
