Thoughts from Jr. women's SP:

They hyped Mao's score...well, she got the advantage as its her rink & as the JWC champion (I don't think Ami is that far).
I also like Saho's program.

A question: why is Sumika Kanazawa not on JGP's sub list? (Adding: oh, I see.. is it because of her age?)

Editing: as there were 2 skaters withdrawn, they re-arrange the skating order, and put Tomoki Hiwatashi the 1st skater (the others follow the order above).

Japan being stingy with the scores as usual

Fortunately we will see much better scores internationally, I can't believe a program with clean triples gets only 60 points here

Just my opinion but it seems the Japanese judges score their Juniors in particular conservatively as a teaching tool.
Incorrect edges (Flip more often than Lutz) and underrotations are called liberally to encourage young skaters to fix issues before it becomes a chronic habit
PCS and scores in general may be kept modest to keep the skaters humble and appreciative when they receive higher than expected scores internationally

He's always been robbed, but lately the gap between what he puts on the ice and the scores he receives is getting absolutely preposterous.

JSF has no right to complain about lack of spectators, when they go above and beyond to bury such a charismatic and gifted performer. It's all on them.
