Mako wasn't in Minato Aquals. Now I wonder she might be injured.

Sara Hanai (she withdrew)
And her brother Hiroto did compete but was only jumping doubles!

I was also wondering about Kinayu. As she returned to Jr. category last season to gain a better status, it's uncertain that if she'll be in Sr. category for the new season...but she's not in Gensan's Summer Cup either. This is odd.

So far I've seen some attempts to the variations in spins:

Rinka - attempted a small hop in one of her spin (combination?)
Mako - attempted the spin on the heel, she did that in both the SP and FS, handling that quite well.

BTW...is Rion trying 3A this time in FS as well?

Aleksandr Selevko's signature heel spin from last season inspired the new craze/trend for this season.
I've seen so many Japanese skaters working variations of it into their programs

I was also wondering about Kinayu. As she returned to Jr. category last season to gain a better status, it's uncertain that if she'll be in Sr. category for the new season...but she's not in Gensan's Summer Cup either. This is odd.

Doesn't Kinayu have to move up to Seniors now due to her age? She turns 20 in December.

Still, concerning that she's not entered anywhere so far.

Wasn't NHK host spot selection event just a week ago? Probably didn't want to get tired just before that.
Judging by her condition here, host spot will go to Aoki. Or even Egawa, if she was invited.

As for Yuna, it's really NOT that I don't want her to be at NHK, I just think it's less likely that she'll be sent to NHK again consecutively...

I think Yuna would get NHK if she does well at SkAm (I wonder when the deadline to announce the host pick is?)
