2024 Souvenir Georges-Éthier | Sep 26-29

Gans/Liu are looking better matched technically here than the last time I saw them. 71.84 for the free, 120.62 for the win (by 0.58 points) I'm looking forward to seeing how they look at Nationals :)

Enjoy watching today
I can’t watch as I have plans with friends.
I’m only going to check this forum to see how Fee Ann and Lia do.
Enjoy watching the skating
(maybe, by not watching today, the skaters will do better 😜)

Not sure what's going on with the replays, they're playing the slowed down versions of the music to match the video over the rink music 😅

Fournier/Zhu scored 153.13 total, so 10 points off the domestic score for Ice Dance international assignments. Closer than they were before though.

I'm stepping out for a bit for errands, I'll be back for the later groups of the Senior Women free.

Is anyone around?
Me. But, I’m playing tennis so will only be checking in, every break

PS. Would appreciate updates on how this event is going, every once in a while. I will watch videos of Fiona/Ben (thanks for uploading) the medalists for Senior Ladies and Lia, later on tonight, when I’m free)
Also, stayed up late to watch the Berlin Marathon LIVE; I’m burned out…

Sarah-Jane Giguere. Coped well with music issue at the start and I think is the first one to stay on her feet throughout. Some messy and two foot landings. I think I liked her yesterday as well.

It's nice that you get ladies who continue to compete once they are adults. :) It's pretty rare here - usually just the top 2-3 continue and then our other seniors are still at school (so 17-18). Most quit when they get to university age. Rinks and universities tend to be in different cities and it's also just too expensive to continue. We only had 6 senior ladies at nationals last year.

I liked the dress/program with the "few decades ago" styling here... very well made by her team.... She did well what she is able to do.... doubles at this point

We see a lot of women in Quebec who don't aspire to do more than these smaller events. They like performing. The skate at their club's shows. some coach too... I appreciate their love for their sport... and since skating skills and performance are important in quebec, they bring a nice program like Sylia just did, which is very enjoyable to watch, though would never have enough content to go Nationals.

Pretty skate from Daphne Lamontagne. I've no idea how the programme and costume were supposed to relate to the music, though?
