I don't know what this version of the "Mockingbird Song" is that Skater #14 is skating to, but I absolutely love it!!!

Well, the words have been changed, but it's the "Mockingbird Song" tune.

It's kind of a spooky version. And the beautiful purple dress that she is wearing emphasises that.

She goes into 6th position.

And by coincidence, the girl after her is doing a "Ghostbusters" programme! She is wearing a black dress.

She goes into 11th position.

This time it is for the Advanced Novices, who return to do their FS's after doing their SP's yesterday. 17 older girls; followed by 16 younger girls; followed by 1 boy. The 17 older girls are arranged into a group of 5; followed by two groups of 6.

There's not much luck for skaters from the Baltic States down to start at #5 in Advanced Novice Ladies FS competitions today. First Amelija SOLDATOVA (LTU) gets disqualified from the Abu Dhabi Classic Trophy, and now Natasha JERMALICKA (LAT) is a withdrawal here.

There were only 4 skaters on the ice during the Group 1 Warm-Up, and the rinkside announcer told us about the withdrawal when introducing the skaters. But, I was doing something and couldn't post about it at the time.

So we go straight onto the Group 2 Warm-Up.

Oh, what I would give for the skaters to just stop their Warm-Up and line up in the middle of the rink doing the actions!

The scary thing is that these kids are far too young to even know what the "Macarena" is.

(Strictly speaking, so are One Direction. But, they know it! )

EDIT: Since posting this, I've been trying it both directions, and I'm not sure which way I normally do it any more!

At the moment, I am thinking that I do actually do it anti-clockwise like the rest of them, rather than clockwise like Anna.​

The first skater, Ebe-Mai TALU (EST) skated to "Heart Of Glass" by Blondie.

I have often wondered why on Earth none of the Ice Dancers had picked this song for the 80's theme. They all seem to be going for "Call Me" and "Rapture". And when I looked it up there now, l discovered the answer - it was released in 1978.

She was wearing a Barbie pink dress that was perhaps a bit too risqué for a girl of this age. It wasn't revealing; it was just suggestive.
