2025-2026 Canadian Figure Skating

If she keeps skating like this is, is it possible she will top the 70 points. I think she is there already but she needs to keep skating like this for the judges to reward her. If she skater for another country she would be well over 70 already.

Her PCS could indeed be a tad higher. Maddie is not a 9.0 skater but she could get just above 8.0s instead of mid 7.0s

Congratulations to Maddie on her win too. Can’t wait to see this season develop. Looking forward to interesting skates ahead.
Yeah... Maddie squeaked that one out. She didn't have a great beginning... not able to combo the lutz and doubling the flip... then she recuperated with a good loop and salchow... but then, the second half was not good... from protocols it looks like a bad lutz (downgraded) + REP and a fall on the loop + REP... she won this because she was smart enough to do a 2a-2a sequence to compensate for earlier.

The good : spins, one level3 and two level4 so that's not bad... and the steps.. level 4

Well 3 medals at JGP happened not too long ago

Also in Latvia in 2022-23

Sandrine and Quentin Silver
Ava and Yoni Silver
Ashlyn Schmitz Tristan Taylor Bronze

Ostrava in 2014-15
Gold for Roman
Gold for Séguin-Bilodeau
Gold for Bent-MacKeen

That was a good year for Canada with 10 medals total

It was a great showing. Maybe next year with Cho we will see the much needed revival in women as well. Long did fantastic! I guess Skate Canada faith in him finally paid off. Hope he performs as strongly in his second event and that Bondar' performs well in his.

Wonder if she has been spending extra time on her spins and footwork. And maybe trying the 3A is throwing off her jump timing a bit. Not sure trying a 3A in an Olympic year is a good thing. Especially when you are the front runner for the lone CAN lady's spot.

I think she might be concerned that SMD will start doing a 3A and overtake her.

I've always liked Maddie and I believe in her but with an Olympic team medal on the line (now that Keegan is back, I believe it's reachable), you have to do better than a 109 in the Free. I give her a 75-80% chance at the Olympic spot at this point.

someone uploaded her free skate at Skate Detroit

thank you. the program is improving..

simply, she titled forward on the lutz and from there on, she got in her head... "where do i put the combo" and that wrecked her flip (she's done a +3t after a flip once if I am not mistaken but i don't think there was a walley before the flip) and then it wrecked her second lutz and loop ..

I am fine with this happening at Skate Detroit but not at Skate Canada

Tristan Taylor and Miyu Yunoki, who competed for 🇯🇵 last season, have announced that they will switch federations and skate for Canada in the 2025-'26 season.
