2025-2026 Canadian Figure Skating

Deanna and Max will do Art on Ice in Switzerland after the Olympics. Excellent news for me as Zurich is only an hour away 😁

I guess they'll stay in Europe after they're done in Milan. And I also guess this means we might not see them at Worlds this season. Art on Ice ends March 7th, and Worlds start around the 20th, give or take a few days. I don't think they'll want to travel back and forth.

Yeah.. that most likely mean they are not doing worlds... and that's a big deal for Canadian pairs. Who will be the second team sent ? I'd bet on one of the junior teams going senior however, the issue is that I feel that Ava and Yoni have unfinished business at Junior Worlds.

Skate Canada usually doesn't send their Junior WC teams to 4cc nor Senior worlds.

I hope Ava and Yoni just focus on Junior Worlds. I would love for them to medal and it would be a dream if they take home the gold medal at JW.

The other Senior Worlds spot could also go to Kelly Ann and Loucas. It will be between these two teams. This probably means we will not be in the fight for three spots anymore and we should just be happy with one top ten finish.

Kind of a foolish move. The way things are going they will not win an olympic medal. Good chance theJapanese and Chinese will not go to worlds so they could maybe sneak on the podium for bronze ala Radford and James and retire.

So are Fiona and Ben out for the whole year? Or is it possible they could be back for 4CC. CAN has had bad luck with promising pairs (Jr and Sr) the last few years.

they don't need to go for a worlds podium. they already are world champions.

Deanna already said she is not retiring.

Max said he is not planning to do another olympic cycle.

They may simply skip worlds and keep going for another season or two.

Also, the Chinese, as of right now, are not olympic medal ready. The real opposition is coming from the Germans and the Japanese. The Georgians are also in the mix, so are the Italians.

I'd love that personally. If they enjoy what they're doing and are injury-free, why not...

And pairs at the Olympics can end in SO many different ways. I think this field is the closest right now. No way of predicting who will medal here.

Robert Brodie has confirmation from Skate Canada that Minsol is released to compete domestically for Canada this season, but not internationally yet. Also a look at SCI and a wrap-up on the Skate Ontario October Sectional Series:
