Nice to see Kovtun getting the national team despite the withdrawal from junior nationals caused by the blade problem. Also nice to see Khamzin who was injured most of the season.

Where are Roman Savosin, Grigory Fedorov, Matvei Vetlugin and Andrei Mozalev ?

Ivan Popov is not here because he wants to skate for uzbékistan ?

They didn't qualify to the national team based on the results.

Hope for a better season for Popov. Or a second citizenship. Glad Kolesnikov made reserve!

Mark did a series of programs with fellow skaters that come from outside of Moscow or St Petersburg, presenting their childhood, their home city and how they started skating. These are great interviews, with both funny moments and really warm ones, like the reunions with former teachers or coaches, and the interviews with the parents. They offer an unique chance to get to know the skater outside the ice, learn more about their lives, and they have a very honest vibe about them.

As far as I saw in Youtube, there are 4 episodes: with Dima, Gleb and Arthur which I share below, and also with Daria Sadkova, which was posted in her thread. I highly recommend checking them out (plus thankfully they were uploaded in Youtube, which means subtitles are available).

With Dima:

With Gleb:

Ivan Popov is entered for the Uzbekistan Championship in Tashkent (out of competition). It is likely that he will complete the transfer. Also junior Boris Tatarov from Smirnova's school has applied for participation.

You don't happen to have a link to the results page? It's so difficult to find information about the competitions in a lot of small feds.

List of boys for junior test skates:

Mikhail Aleksakhin, Nikita Sarnovsky, Eduard Karatynyan, Nikolai Kolesnikov, Vadim Voronov, Gleb Kovtun, German Lenkov, Roman Khamzin, Lev Lazarev, Makar Solodnikov, Arseny Fedotov, Ilyas Khaliullin, Artem Fedotov.

Petr Gumennik is on the list of skaters at the Olympic qualification in Beijing:

Thank you. Sorry, I was away so missed the info. I am rooting for Ivan to rep Uzbekistan! It did wonders for Malinins family. May it be auspicious.

But did Ivan from Uzbekistan actually skate in Tashkent? I can't find him in the protocol/entries linked up.

Actually, it's difficult for me to answer this question: all Russian participants from Smirnova's team have disappeared from the starting protocols, and YouTube broadcasts have been blocked. Perhaps they decided that it was too early to participate in such events.

Dang Gumennik looks so freaking good.

Hopefully he was only wearing a practice shirt here. He needs a more impactful costume but love that handkerchief touch at the end.

Wow I’m honesty shock of how good he looks here.

I have to be honest here.... this is not a good program :frown: and definitely not what Petya needed for the Olympics

For me, there are quite a few problems. First, the "concept": Petya is playing a serial killer of the most sick nature. Whoever thought this was a good idea, really should have thought again. Of course, there is nothing about this in the program, you only know it by tracing the music to the film it comes from, but since it's quite a well-known film, the image is still there for the judges / potential viewers.

Then, the music itself is flat and monotone (and as so, it's even less worth it risking it with the related image just for the sake of the music). And finally, because clearly the concept linked to the music couldn't be depicted into the program (as they did with Dune or Onegin for instance), then the choreographer completely run out of ideas. And so the program is empty, like really empty. I like Petya and he is a very good skater, but to actually sell 3 minutes of emptiness requires a sort of Kolyada's kind of good and that is just another level. So here, Petya basically has nothing to "present" and for his PCs score relies only on his gliding skills and a couple of arm movements (and whatever tech-related PCs he can get if he lands all jumps clean).

In the end, it is a completely forgettable program, there is no energy nor life into it. Which is the exact opposite of what you need for the Olympics, especially if you are skating at the very beginning in the SP. It would do for the qualification, as now there is very short notice anyway and the stakes there are not very high. But for Petya's sake, I do hope it gets sacked for Milan; no need of course to create yet another new program, he can simply return any of his old SPs and it will be much better. Fingers crossed for him 🤞
