I really hope this is true as it will mean I can drive (from Toronto) to this Nationals as well!

I went to the 1988 Canadians (as we still called it then) in Victoria before the Calgary Olympics and that was fun. I'd only been retired a few years and still knew a lot of the skaters, so mostly I deserted my allotted seat and hung out in the section reserved for the off-duty competitors. Not as good a view, but I got all the gossip and caught up with my friends' news. And saw the programs that were still being fine-tuned before Calgary.
Nothing is listed there, but i could try creating a WTB thread there...

Btw, for anyone who clicks on the links for skaters with no international experience, you will find I posted something with a picture of the skater- possibly from BC or Quebec team postings, Instagram accounts, club posts. Failing that, their Skating Scores listing.
If you want to see their stats, almost all are on Skating Scores, and I did not show links.

Yes... when i checked a few days ago, there were two sessions which had sections that were sold out and it was pretty full everywhere else... I am SO glad I got my tickets at the pre-sale... It is really the only way to do skating events I am afraid. It's sometimes a year ahead, like it was for Worlds.... but not doing that means, more money and not always such good seats. I hope I picked the right seats when I bought because it was hard to tell where it would be but considering it's a 2500 seat facility, I am pretty sure it will be all good... When going there for Skate Canada, I hadn't bought great seats and I was still seeing really well, so in case some people still want to attend but are in the cheaper section/less good seat section.... do not hesitate.

He's been injured for a year now (I know he competed a Skate Canada, but he was still injured and should not have competed). It's not looking good for him. Skaters rarely hit their best form again after such a long injury.

sure but a freak leg fracture versus what looks like constant back issues... i think it's easier to heal from a fracture than an injury caused from the long hours of training.Think of Kaetlyn Osmond's story, and hope for the best?
So, this pretty much locks down the 4CC team to: Aleksa, Roman and Wesley

Yeah... I think Anthony's best hope are for Junior Worlds and I don't think he's even competed internationally as a Senior so he is out... pretty much like all others, except for Matthew who I believe had the 4CC minimums and... would Edrian have them still ? So there's that. I hope that one of the men will have a clear and glorious win and be named without doubt. I never like the "let's wait on how these guys do at 4CC before confirming who goes to worlds..." and btw.. only one of them goes to worlds and will not place top ten so it's kind of sad.
Yeah, it'll likely default to Aleksa, Roman and Wesley for 4CC. Matthew and Edrian have the minimums, and I think Edrian keeps them with the transfer. Gabriel Blumenthal has the minimums too, but he hasn't competed since last Nationals.
Next season should have a larger pool for the Senior Men. Anthony should get a Challenger since he's been close to the required domestic threshold twice now. Grayson isn't eligible this season, but he met the international threshold at Cranberry Cup. David Bondar is about 10 points off with his Challenge score, and 8 of those points are from the missed combo in his short.
I can do a post for the pools and criteria when I get home from the office.

Who is your best bet for a wildcard skater - someone who upsets the applecart in any division?
Mine is Amy Shan Ning Yang who could be the wedge skater, who doesn't medal but prevents someone else from medaling.

I agree, but in what order is the problem I have.
Here is what I am considering as Canada needs this man to qualify through the SP at Worlds :
- The short program is crucial as the cutoffs are getting harder and harder - last season many deserving skaters did not get through. The highest SP point-getter was Wesley, Roman is the most well-known while Aleksa seems to be the steadiest.

Pairs and Dance seem to be pretty predictable, while Ladies seems to be harder to handicap.
In dance I expect great improvement from Nadiia & Peter, but am not sure they can catch Lily & Nathan who have literally been on fire this year. Nadiia & Peter have been playing catch-up all year, but I do expect them to pass Alyssa & Jakob as well as Jamie & Everett who they trail in PB scores.
- Maddie seems to be slowly coming into form and shows the greatest potential score. Can she avoid any nervous mistakes. Her Lion King program should bring good scores.
- Katherine is second highest, but I do not know how consistent she is under the big lights of Nationals or Worlds.
- Uliana has been steadily rising and seems unfazed by most challenges. Her lowest scores seem to be above most others.
- Kaiya has struggled all year. Can the steady hand of Tracy Wilson & Co. bring her consistency, cause she has shown to be a Nationals skater - giving her best skates at this event.
- Fee-Ann has scores like Uliana that have a 10 point swing. She has the lowest season average of the group according to skating scores.
- Amy had the deficit of not having her minimums and will likely have to prove herself this year to be considered next year.
- Sara-Maude is such an up and down skater for me. You can't count her out, but how much can you expect from her.
