The 2025 Denis Ten Memorial Challenge is the seventh of 11 events of the 2025-26 Figure Skating Challenger Series and is scheduled to take place in Almaty, Kazakhstan, October 2-4, 2025.

This event will feature the Singles and Ice Dance disciplines in the Senior category. The Singles and Ice Dance disciplines in the Junior category will be held separately but in conjunction with this event. They will be conducted in accordance with the ISU Constitution and General Regulations, the ISU Special Regulations for Singles & Pair skating and Ice Dance, and relevant ISU Communications.

Participation is open to all Skaters/Couples of ISU Members with a maximum of 3 entries per category (except for the Host ISU Member), who are eligible for International “Senior” Competitions by age (Rule 108) and by citizenship (109) and entered through the respective ISU Member. There is a limitation for the Skaters/Couples to three (3) participations in the Challenger Series Competitions.

The event will count towards ISU World Standing Points, Minimum Total Technical Score, Challenger Series in Figure Skating Ranking and Prize Money.

Samodelkina WD due to injury - though she's still on the entry list for some reason:frown: They better send at least one of the subs from KAZ, or the Women's field will only have 10 skaters
 
The announcement said there would be no exhibition this season. :( so I hope the website is correct! :)

So idk exactly what's happening because the schedule and announcement don't have it, but the website says it is happening and they are still selling tickets for it.

I know some people were questioning the decision to invite banned (but also retired so non-competitive) Russian skaters to the gala of an ISU competition last year. So my theory is that they've just decided to host a separate show gala that just happens to include the top-finishers of the ISU CS Denis Ten Memorial that just finished in the same ice rink earlier that day, but it's not associated with the ISU so is totally fine and won't be questioned by anyone at all.

Or, they want to host a annual memorial gala to Denis and this is just a good time for it, it's being called the 2025 Denis Ten Memorial Gala Show. Invitees include Mikhail Shaidorov, Sofia Samodelkina(?), Dias Jirenbayev, Anna Sannikova. Plus Jason Brown, Cha Junhwan and Volosozhar/Trankov.
 
I think that is the right explanation on the gala.

Btw the schedule is hugely different than what they published in the announcement. I am going to delete my schedule posts above.

And no junior dance shows on the schedule.
