Seems to me the variation in rink size from event to event could have the unfortunate result of changing the timing/execution of the entire program, including the time of conclusion.

On second thought, after sitting there for a few hours and watching people skate, I think the impression was mostly due to the scale of the rest of the arena - the proportions were very different from the last few comps I attended, since the seating goes way up over two levels and pretty steeply. But audience-wise this is a pretty great place! I’m very happy I’m not freezing like in Riga.

Organisational note in case someone here is coming to the Arena tomorrow/Saturday for the evening session only: there’s not much point coming too early - you’re gonna be stuck in a queue outside!

After the first session, they’re letting people leave first while they check the tickets of everyone who’s staying in the arena. Only then they open the gates for people just joining. However, ticket validation goes very quickly - coming 15ish min before a session, I haven’t had to wait more than 1-2 min so far.

I wish they had done it like that in Grenoble instead of sending us out in the rain and letting us line up outside again -.-
