2025 Japanese Nationals - Women's SP

Rinka Watanabe's interview after SP:

"I was so nervous I thought I might die, but after one lap, it started to feel fun. If I practice at 120%, I think I was able to give about 85-90% in this short program. I still have room to improve on each jump. I think the two Axels will be important (in the free program), but we're really close, like a married couple, and we're able to perform the Axel in harmony, so I hope we can do our best without any arguments all the way to the free program."

Maria's upgraded her jump combo to a 3F+3T, and continues to skate with grace, elegance, and joy! I find it really funny that she's skating to a piece that translates to "Hail Maria" and her name is Maria... very inspiring.

Maria!!!! 😍 This Ave Maria program really suits her, and not just because of her name 😂

She's so joyful and ethereal, and love love her layback spin. So centred and fast, and she got a lv 4 even without doing a biellman :cheer2:
