2025 JGP Ankara Women's Short Program

Oh dear. That really wasn't the skate Minsong Kim wanted. Very costly jump errors. She will probably still make the top half of the ranking based on her PCS, but she is so much better than that.

... I knew she was extremely nervous just by her expression during her starting pose, when the first toe was tilted I expected a fall but the loop... (deep sigh) rally with the free my girl, your free is a gem and I truly hope and wish that you'll able to show the world what a star you are

An enjoyable performance from Minsong, jumps don't matter. She has beautiful arm carriage and hands when focusing on the choreography. She generates plenty of speed, and I liked the spread eagle-Ina Bauer-2A. Unfortunate popped loop, but she goes straight into a level 4 layback with a spread eagle out. She has a dynamic step sequence as well.

probably have heard her but wouldn't be able to tell what or when :) She may be Belgian but she does sing with this French style... more of a spoken voice instead of very lyrical singing... French (and I guess now Belgians too LOL) have a long tradition of these singers. For instance Vanessa Paradis... Quebec singers are usually singing big... not saying they have better songs though LOL but yeah I don't like the small voices. Voilà :)
This style might not show it off very well, but Mentissa has a big voice. She has some songs that show this off a little better. I do think this singing style is probably much easier on the vocal chords, though, especially for singers who might not have much classical training, even if it might not be to our tastes as much.

(There are unfortunately so many singers with great voices who have questionable technique and completely ruined their voices.)

Unusual and lovely dress and of course I adore the music :dance2: even if the different cut discombobulates

What they are saying about the small rink she has to practice on explains quite a bit.

A good skate from Sofia! A pretty penché spiral as she heads around the corner for the 2A. Shows off her flexibiity in her Y-spin, and the Biellmann in her layback. The first cantilever I've seen today. An unusual raised knee position for the twizzles at end of her step sequence. She's fast and determined, imagine what she could do with more ice time!

I need my Earl Grey pave chocolate right now for me to not fall into a depressive slump, Minsong's Layla (I refuse to call it Chopin) is so fun and energetic when clean..... her Cirque du Soleil free is one of my favorite of our junior women's and I desperately need her to end first and only JGP with a smile
