2025 JGP Solidarity Cup Men's Free Skate

Woke up to the bestest news :party2:

Btw, how did you all know each others' scores before CherylDee officially announced the winners a couple hours later? Don't tell me you've been counting people's scores manually 😅
If you go to the prediction thread, sometimes you can click on results and they are already there... the official announcement sometimes comes right away, sometimes a bit later. In this occurence though, the results were in for only the first 3 disciplines but it was clear that nobody could catch you gals up... even with my perfect score in men :). I was too far away LOL

I was watching on my phone yesterday, so this is coming very late, but maybe it helps someone:

JGPF Qualifying standings:
Qualified:

  1. Rio NAKATA (JPN) - 15+15=30 (493.14)
  2. Minkyu SEO (KOR) - 15+15=30 (479.72)
  3. Habin CHOI (KOR) - 15+13=28 (459.45)
  4. Taiga NISHINO (JPN) - 15+13=28 (452.85)
On the bubble:
  1. Patrick BLACKWELL (USA) - 13+9=22 (415.32)
  2. Genrikh GARTUNG (GER) - 11+11=22 (429.15)
Still to compete at their second JGP:
  1. Sena TAKAHASHI (JPN) - 13 (225.84)
  2. Grayson LONG (CAN) - 13 (221.71)
  3. Denis KROUGLOV (BEL) - 13 (213.47)
  4. Shun UEMURA (JPN) - 11 (212.55)
  5. Lucius KAZANECKI (USA) - 11 (202.67)
  6. Tonghe TIAN (CHN) - 9 (199.75)
  7. Hiro KAEWTATHIP (THA) - 7 (182.70)
Realistically, all of these guys need at least a silver or even a gold to qualify for the JGPF. I'm sure someone else will work out all of the possibilities of how a bronze or lower could get someone through to the final, but with the concentration of prior medalists at JGP Abu Dhabi, those scenarios seem unlikely.

Realistically, I think only those with 13 or 11 points are in contention, and they would need to place either first on second. For a skater who currently has 13 points to qualify with a bronze, they would need to have only one other contender place ahead of them (i.e. either gold or silver would need to go to a skater who was not in contention for a final). It would not be possible for someone with 11 points to qualify with a bronze (unless none of the contenders took gold or silver) because Patrick Blackwell's second place would put him ahead of their two third places on the first tie break.
