Someone tell Skate Canada that this event is happening in less than a week, I fear they've forgotten 😶
I keep checking the site to see if there will be updates and nope... the one time i will not check it, @saine will do so and be again, one click or more ahead of me ;)

Joking aside, how can fans get interested if there is absolutely no news about an event ?

At least they have a free livestream - For now, at least. And with music, so already lengths ahead of USFS.
Still, it really should not be hard to release entry lists at least a week in advance, what kind of big changes are they expecting at this point?

Thank you very much @eringoodall15 😍

This is the list with me trying to piece together the full names - Of course, no guarantees, I just hope I got everyone right. 🙂

Target Scores for JGP/Junior International assignment (selection criteria):

MenWomenPairsIce Dance
2 years or less eligibility200163145150
3 years or more eligibility180155130130
2nd JGP assignment*210182150155
* should be in international competition to show the possibility of qualifying for JGPF, could also be by achieving the best scores in Canada or have created a competitive gap with the other skaters in Canada

With the men, six are in their last season of eligibility (Paradis, Vasii, Bondar, Howes, Heiderich, Li.) Grayson Long is in 2 years or less now, but he has another year of eligbility after this.

Wong/Conforti aren't eligible for either Junior or Novice assignments this season, which makes it seven eligible Pairs teams.

Entries for Riga are due July 18th, so some skaters will get a JGP assignment before the competition.

(also 🕯️ for Briere/Levesque, hopefully they can be on the JGP if they aren't here 😭)

Forgive me for asking. But, why are Wong/Conforti not eligible?

I am a little bit surprised that Gabrielle Jugnauth has been selected and Konstantina Lock has not been. Konstantina has a 3Lo, albeit not a consistent one. Gabrielle doesn't even have a reliable double one. Konstantina has also tended to place above Gabrielle in recent competitions.

I looked at their recent protocols, I think it's not having a 3Lz or reliable 3F for Konstantina that kept her from being selected.

Also no Siyul Back / Gavin Mahoney? I know last year they didn't make the cut for the JGP but was hoping to see an improved team this year. Did they break up?

Is there word on the schedule so we can hopefully book time to watch the live-streaming?

I think they might have? Siyul Back is on the interim entries for Novice Women at Skate Ontario August, but not in Junior Pairs.

Five clicks ahead of me 😫🤗
Yay!!
On Friday, I’m going to have to find time to watch Junior Ladies and Dance during work hours. I won’t be able to watch Pairs or the boys LIVE though 🥺

I’m free on Saturday to watch free skates

Also, I believe on Sunday, they streamed them doing a fun team building competition. Won’t be able to watch that. But, hopefully, they do it again for this season and I can watch when I have free time as I enjoyed watching them interact with one another

I'll have to skip the Men's Short, but should hopefully be able to watch the rest live. Will probably have to multitask, but I'm willing to make my life harder to see some skating again.
