I mean overseas spectators applied for the lottery via Tixplus. I just saw that NHK Trophy tickets will be sold at 7-Eleven stores in Japan this August, which implies they haven't sold out yet. So, I'm hoping that tickets for overseas fans will become available online a bit later, or that they might be available for purchase at the door.

I am really interested to know more about the ticket sales and availability. We just returned from Japan, and travel there has become more convenient than to most of Europe or US for us. And it is far easier to get around there than the internet would have you to believe. So, how do tickets sales work, what is that lottery structure and if they have all-event tickets for overseas. Not for this year, since i am going to Skate Canada, but next season. Hopefully, the internal interest there would die down and they will be more open to selling seats for abroad.

According to the updated spot-assignments of Japanese domestic competitions (regional and sectional), Haru Kakiuchi got the NHK host entry to the men's.

I'm so relieved! I was so hoping Yuna would get a second assignment, but there are so many girls who've been strong this preseason - Saki Miyake especially has been absolutely stellar - that I wasn't sure how good her odds were. So happy to know she gets the chance to aim for the Final (LOOK, I CAN HOPE)! Back to back assignments is tough, but I gotta believe...
Also thrilled to see Kakiuchi getting the nod. I remember thinking he was a lovely skater on the JGP and then not seeing much of him for a while, so it'll be nice to see him on a bigger stage.

Sadly, I will be at sea during this event. Since Peacock isnt inclined to keep things available for awhile, I am looking for options.
1. Getting a VPN renewed and hoping the ISU keeps the skates up for a couple of weeks.
2. Getting a three day pass or ? to watch Japan TV on Nozomi, which keeps shows up for two weeks or so. All I need is one of our wonderful Japan members to tell me the channels it will appear on.
Hopefully, the VPN/ISU does the trick.

PaulE, it would be cool to travel to Japan with you for a skating event, but all things considered, I understand where the Japanese are coming from. In the US, Promoters/ticket sellers just jump the price of a quality event as high as they can...where as in Japan, they try and make it so you dont have to be rich to attend an event. Only lucky. Unfortunately, medical issues for me make long plane rides impracticle. My friend who just lost his second wife in 4 years wants to go to Japan ( he has been all over the world) and has the time and the money....it looks like a beautiful place, especially in the country, as I follow Japanese youtubers as they tour Japan on their motorcycles...

Wouldn’t Sofia S or Anna P be eligible for SC? They aren’t for NHK but should still be for others
Anna already has two assignments (China and Japan).
It appears that Sofia Samodelkina must have turned down a second assignment - otherwise she would have got Cup of China, and that went to Anna Pezetta who was below her on the replacement list. Anna has two now, as does Livia Kaiser. There have been reports that Sofia is dealing with an injury.
