2025 Skate to Milano Men's Short Program

I find it ironic we have a disclaimer to refrain from making negative comments about AIN athletes and everyone here is excessively praising them.

Gumennik was aggressively fine. Calm down.
I DO agree with you to a point, as I thought the same thing with the AIN athlete in the ladies short being in first. Wait till she hits up against REAL competition at the Olympics. However, Gumennik threw down a great program when needed. We'll see if he holds up against real competition in Milano.

@elbkup I was just looking at some domestic results and saw that our bowling ice dance couple Michela Melillo, Connecticut Skating Academy & Karl Schapfel, Hayden Recreation Centre FSC
are competing this year.

I think that this is class of the field. Petr put out of the best programs I have seen in a while. This would have medaled at Worlds this year.
Ah, not necessarily. The scoring might have been slightly less against a stacked top-level field in a major event. Petr was fine at this long-awaited, emotional event. It was a very good, solid skate. The judges were generously fair with the 93+. Anyone expecting a 100 or over score for Petr's sp is being unrealistic. I detected a bit of understandable nerves from Petr, but he managed it all very well. He should feel proud and satisfied, and keep his positive energy going for the fp.

Sorry but you have anything against him or just some kind of envy because he create something?
Because it takes courage to create something and expose yourself even knowing it's not perfect... there are much worse songs, which have been skated dozens of times in competition
And besides, all the athletes who come from countries with no history in ice skating and no conditions to train... and still give their best deserve our respect...
I have no envy and nothing against him. First time I see him.
I just didn't like the music he composed. People on here are vocal about everything from costumes, music, under-rotations etc. No need to get so upset about it, it's just my opinion.

Preach, sister! I think "generously fair" is an apt way to describe his score.

Warm-Up Group 2
6 Douglas GERBER AUS
7 Paolo BORROMEO PHI
8 Dias JIRENBAYEV KAZ
9 Ze Zeng FANG MAS
10 Jari KESSLER CRO

All right, I will need to remember D. Gerber's costume for the "What The Fabric" thread at the end of the season! One sleeve??? Is the costume unfinished??? LOL

A guy skating to "Yo Soy Maria?" I gotta give Gerber props for doing something different with a warhorse. :)

According to Mark and Ted the young man knows what he wants to be as a skater. The sleeve must mean something.
