Just catching up with the scores and some of the skates. Didn't expect Petr to struggle that much. Artistically, nice posture and nice gliding flow, but sadly no much more there. He was thinking all his moves, not feeling them so there was very little to no emotional connection to his skating

(also, his FS is indeed the same than last season, but hasn't the choreo be simplified? I don't know, I just hadn't really noticed before that the choreo is mostly just arm movement, seemed a somewhat more balanced program

). And then even his tech failed him....

Men skating is my favorite discipline so I'm really really hoping that we get some sort of viable competition at the Olympics, so we can enjoy an exciting, truly competitive event. Of course it's very early in the season, but so far it seems that quite a few people who could potentially provide this (and the list is not that long to start with) are either injured or struggling, or dealing with (in some cases chronic) inconsistency, or all of this together

Fingers crossed things turn around before Milan!
Also, too bad for Davide, the skater from Monaco; 5th in the SP and 5th in the FS, but 6th overall ! Must be hard for him to miss out on such a slim margin. Best wishes to him that he bounces back.
