Maissane CHINE / Morgan LALIBERTE LAURENT (FRA) are wearing matching costumes which are black with a gold pattern.
I would be tempted to nominate Maissane's dress. Except that I actually like the vest version that Morgan is wearing. And when they are matching costumes, you can't really nominate one without the other.
If the skirt part of Maissane's dress was plain like Morgan's trousers, it would look great. But the pattern extending down there is too much.

Wild looking costumes. Check.
Strange music choices. Check.
I would never have imagined ever seeing somebody skating to "Ride On Time" by Black Box. Especially in the 1990's theme season, seeing as it was released in 1989.
I don't know the first song, so I dont know if it fitted the time range.
They go into 3rd position.

And the penultimate partnership, Eryn ALAVERA / Nikolai BALABARDIN (FRA), were also keeping up the French Ice Dance traditions!

In the first half of their programme, I thought Romy REVERCHON / Victor di MUZIO (FRA) were being more conventional, with "Vogue" by Madonna. But then in came a weird re-mix of "Freed From Desire" by Gala. Thankfully this didn't last long, as it was replaced by the original version of the song.
I'm struggling to work out what the costumes have to do with the music. Romy looks like she is dressed as a Roman centurion. Victor is wearing the black see-through top that all male skaters representing France are obligated to wear at some point of their careers.
They win the Short Dance. But only by 0.52 points.
And that is it for today. Back tomorrow to complete the Junior competitions.

Turkkila/Versluis and Fear/Gibson have withdrawn from the Senior event btw.

Thank goodness this is not a Challenger event this season. With the number of late withdrawals that are coming through, everybody's predictions would end up well up the creek without a paddle.
