Question, are we absolutely certain this is airing on Feb 9th? Right now, my cable box is still saying that this Feb 9th timeslot is going to be showing Euros, and the gala is airing on Feb 2nd at 12pm. Sometimes, things do get entered wrong into the cable box guide, so I'm perfectly willing to accept that there's an error in there, but I just find it really odd.

What? No Sam Mindra, Kirk Haugeto, Sonja Hilmer? Looks like I didn’t miss a lot.

I just did a search for figure skating on Peacock to see what tiles they showed for Europeans. The last item that showed up was the Gala for the U.S. Championships. It is listed for 9:00 am (Pacific Time) on 2 February. Interestingly the Gala for Europeans shows up at 6:00 am on the same day (Pacific Time again).

We now know what time this is being broadcast. There is also a tile on Peacock.

Feb. 2

I just checked Peacock and the tile for U. S. Nationals Gala has been removed. No idea when it will be shown. I get terrible reception for NBC broadcast tv but I'll check tomorrow at noon and see if the Gala is being shown.

Looks like they've pulled it. It's no longer listed in the cable box guide, too.

Out of respect for crash victims and families, presumably? I would think NBC could simply do a note at the beginning of the broadcast saying this event and its commentary was recorded prior to the plane crash. They added notes to the Euros broadcasts quite quickly, after all. If it is true that we won't get to see the Nationals gala, I am (selfishly) a little disappointed.

Did anyone take fan cams of performances other than the finale?

Specifically, Torgashev? I believe I read that he skated to something different than at the GP France gala. But I could be wrong.

Hmm, it appears that JSports 4 still has the US Nationals gala listed on Sunday, February 16th from 6 pm to 8:30 pm Japan time.

It would be tempting to renew my Japanese TV service and report on the gala if it hasn't been shown before then, but I will be flying out to Japan on the afternoon of the 16th (Pacific Time), so there may not be enough time for that.

I would have bawled if the gala aired and they showed Max. It would have felt cruel.

I was looking forward to seeing Ilia's program on TV, but with the song title, idk, it just feels sad and not right. Here's the fan cam:

Jordan was filming the whole thing, so maybe there will be clips later from On Ice Perspectives. I'm not sure if he has the rights though.

What an eerie song choice now, Ilia. Maybe he'll change it for Boston Worlds? Oh my goodness.

I heard Green/Parsons had a great new show program. Loved theirs from last year. Anyone have a fan cam of this one?

Ilia has a lot of good exhibitions to choose from, but I suspect he will make a new one for Worlds since it is a special occasion. However, after watching No Time to Die, I feel that it is appropriate for the sadness I am feeling now and would be suitable as a remembrance for those lost. People will have different reactions to art and music, so I will not tell anyone how they should feel about this performance, but my opinion is that it would not be wrong to use it again. Ilia’s performance is very somber and beautiful. It’s easy to forget that he made this BEFORE the tragedy. Figure Skating Land posted a pretty good video on YouTube, so you can see it there if you feel like it without going to Twitter.
