A small query- how many predictions do we need to get correct to receive a medal (any color)? And even though Jason withdrew, I couldn't replace him in my predictions, so would he be striked out and replaced by the next skater I predicted?

Hi underrotatedflutz, there is no set number of predictions you have to get to receive a medal. Medals are awarded based on how many points you score relative to everyone else participating.

For example, if you receive 55 points in Women's for your predictions, but there are posters who've received 75, some who've received 65, and some who've received 60, you wouldn't get a medal because you'd be in fourth place. The people who received 75 would get gold medal, the people with 65 would get a silver, and the people with 60 would get a bronze.

But, for example, if you receive 55 points in Women's and no one else scores higher than that, you'd receive the gold medal.

Scoring as done as follows (from gsk8's original post in this thread):
Each correct guess of placement is worth 15 points. Each guess that is one placement off is worth 10 points. Each guess that is two placements off is worth 5 points. There is no human scoring so results will be shown soon after each event is completed. Your total standings are based on your total score — not by discipline.

You mentioned that you couldn't replace Jason in your predictions. You can update your prediction as long as you do so before the deadline listed in the first post of the predictions contest. Just go to the post with your predictions and click Edit then change whatever you'd like.

I hope this is helpful!

Wow, my first overall 🥇 in ages, plus three 🥈 in men, women and dance! I thought after bombing in pairs, I wouldn't stay in the running but my men's predictions pulled through.

Thanks to the organizers, congratulations to all medalists and see you all at Euros!

Goodness and heavens to betsy! I'm very happy with my GOLD medal for the women and a SILVER medal for the men! Standing on 2 podiums:dance2:

I thought my bungling pairs would have more effect. But pairs was bungled in many ways! ETA: No, I don't mean that. It was a very exciting event and unpredictable, which I love. E/M, M/P, and S/N were all awesome!

A bronze in men and ice dance. 😀 Not bad considering some surprising outcomes. Whoa, especially the upheaval in pairs. I would have had a prediction medal in pairs, too, if it was based solely on the sp results. But my goodness the skating gods and Alisa/Misha said, "Watch us turn fierce passion and desire into gold." 🥇🎇 Amazing turn of results, indeed. Goes to prove the much used adage, "Anything and everything can happen in a figure skating competition."

Congrats to all the contest medalists! 🥳
