2025 World Championships Practice Reports

Edward APPLEBY GBR skates his FS in the brightest neon red jacket. He enjoys Rubik's cubes. Some powerful music - Sand Wick, Excommunicado and John Wick Mode by Tyler Bates, Joel J. Richard and Le Castle Vania. Very intense. My connection just died thanks to family rebooting without warning.
did you see all of Ed's skate, or did your connection due midway through?

Lev VINOKUR ISR replacing Mark Gorodnitsky skates to some Sinatra. His hobby is neuroscience. Fun program.

I did; he marked one or two jumps but did a complete run thru .. very well done. Lots of energy He always chooses upbeat music.. his choreographer is Lambiel I think

thank you! Really hope he has a good short and easily makes it to the free skate. I didn't know his choreographer is Stephane Lambiel - that's good to hear. He trains part of the time with Valter Vitarnen's wife, too. I'd love to see Ed qualify for the Olympics.

Edit: I've just noticed on his ISU page that he's no longer with long-time coach John Wicker, but has switched to Christopher Boyadji and Lloyd Jones. 😮

Kyrylo MARSAK UKR skates his FS to Unchained Melody. Such a lovely program for him. His hobbies are singing, cybersport and football.

Alexander ZLATKOV BUL skating his FS marks the opening moves since he is the first skater. He loves table tennis, vollyball and video games. He has some very nice spins and has some strong lines to his skating.

Roman SADOVSKY CAN skating his FS doubles or singles his content intentionally. He has lovely style and interpretation, but I'd like to see him challenge himself to land some of that content with less prep time to build his confidence. I'm not sure he can take away much from such a safe run through.

Nika EGADZE GEO skating his FS does challenge himself to land some of his content even if he pops the opening lutz he comes back to land the 4T and 3-3 combo.

Davide LEWTON BRAIN MON runs through his FS. He has put in the time to up his difficulty this year and it shows. I want to see a picturer of him with Danny O'Shea.

Lukas BRITSCHGI SUI skates his FS and attacks his program, challenging himself for readiness. He looks ready to contend with the others. He is very smart about what he needs to do to be ready.

The other skater in this last group is Torgs.

Shaidorov, Brown, and Malinin are skipping this practice.

Burak DEMIRBOGA TUR has grown on me this season. He is becoming an engaging performer who is getting more comfortable with his difficult content. All season long I have had a smile at the end of his programs. His style is fun and easy to like. He did not have a lot of content today, seeming to just get comfortable.
