I am glad at who going.
The are competitive will see how well and ready they are skating.
I am surprised just a few of the junior jumping to senior. I was hopingfor more.
Glad those that are there
I forgot Michael shaidrov. Hope he ready .after his issues. I wonder who is going to coach Nina pinzarone after she left her long timr coach

I don't recall a Jimmy Ha from the U.s.a. I do remember a Jimmy Ma. Jimmy Ha in France gp assignment list. Should it be Jimmy Ma?

My apologies I am reading from the International skating page email to my account.

Sorry I didn't read the first oage..I apologize for not reading the forum and going by what is sent to email.
I like the Fact that Lilah Fear and Gibson in , but I thought they retired and split going moving on to their own thing.
Guess decided one more year

I'm so happy for the Canadian Ladies, it's great to have Gabrielle Daleman, Fee Ann Landry and Sara-Maude Dupuis getting one GP spot and Madeline Schizas getting 2 GP spot.
I'm so existed about the TBD spot for Skate Canada.
I hope that the TBD spot will be between Kaiya Ruiter, Uliana Shiryaeva, Gabrielle Daleman or Sara-Maude Dupuis and that Skate Canada will choose the skater who will achieve the best results this summer.

Now that gp assignments are out.
I am surprised at how many OGM are continuing.
We have from the USA alysa liu, amber glenn, ilia malin and from France Beaudry and Cizeron.
I dont recall that many Ogm continuing on.
In fact more stop.
They might come back the year before the Olympics but usually not after.

Most ogm stop or retire. Sarah Hughes tried but she couldn't.
Can someone tell me how many ogm stayed and continued
Yuzuru Hanyu did
Yuna did when she came back in
2013
I'm not surprised about Ilia. He was going for 2030 no matter what. FB/C said they are staying in b/c the 2030 Olympics are in France.

Another interesting absences:
Max Naumov - his SB wasn't super high on the list to earn him guaranteed spot but he was still higher than some of the guys who got those spots plus he's popular olympian so I believe it means rather that he has no plans to compete in the fall.
Wang Liu - also, not very high SB but two other chinese teams are already entered as host spots so it probably means break or retirement.
Lea Serna - France only used one host spot for their GP; it's interesting, they didn;t give another one to Lorine so I wonder if Lea was just not considered at all or she declared she's not competing
Has Max confirmed he's continuing?

Jackie Wong explains the new changes that have affected GP assignments. Not too happy about the changes to split skater and returning skater rules, which is partly why new U.S. pairs teams did not get selected. For the two pairs tbd spots at SA, it will likely be between Andrews/ Parkman; Shin/ Howe; and McBeath/ Nagy. So one of these teams won't get a GP. Hopefully, all three will be given plenty of opportunities for Challenger events.

A commenter noted that Piper Gilles announced on IG today that she and Paul are skipping the GP this season. 🤔

I mentioned Boyang to my Chinese boyfriend yesterday to see if he recognized him. He didn't recognize him, but he googled some Mandarin news articles from official Chinese government sources and according to him, their headlines implied that the Milan Olympics were his last dance...😢

As for Grand Prix assignments, I'm excited about Rio Nakata's debut and hope to see him live in Kelowna! 😁
Ahh I see :frown: All the articles and interviews I've seen so far sound like it was his last one.. but I don't want to assume anything yet until he says something himself. I really would like to see him to skate more in the future, even if he misses this season or whatever he chooses to do from now on

I was also surprised to see his name there, and I strongly suspect it will be removed in the next few days. :(

After 43 minutes in the video: “I’m currently dedicating a considerable period to rest and regain my strength and vitality. Looking ahead, my goal is to continue my journey and participate in the next Olympic Games. It’s been four years, so it’s demanding, but I can’t say I don’t want to do it right now. Quite the contrary.”

So, I don't know if that means he'll skip this season but go for the 2030 OLYG or what.

I hope to see the Jr GP assignments soon.

We won't see any of those until we get closer to the start of the JGP.
Difference between GP and JGP assignments:

GP assignments all announced together, JGP on an event-by-event basis

GP assignments determined by combination of ISU rules regarding actual skaters previous results + host choices, JGP made by skater's federation within quotas determined by federations previous JR Worlds results

I am happy that Kevin Amoz and Jason Brown got Grand Prix assignments. I think that Jason will do fine with both Skate America and NHK. I also think that Jason will do fine with a Senior B because Jason knows what he is doing out on the ice. Also, the Olympics are over and I think that some negative comments by others, Jason wanting to make a third Olympic team so badly, and maybe using the wrong music for his long program added up to a mess of a season. This season I think that Jason will be Jason again and bring the house down at Nationals. I am not suprised that there's no Piper and Paul or no Roman. No Chock and Bates are no surprise either. I am surprised by no Bradie Tenell and no Max Naimov.

If I remember correctly, I read that Lilah and Lewis are planning to compete at the 2030 Olympics
