2026 Canadian Nationals : Junior Women

Quinn is a fun performer, it's a shame about the 3Lz fall. This is probably going to put Megane into podium position for the free now.

I know there's a bonus, but Kaetlyn was talking about how there wasn't one since one jump had to be a higher BV, so I'm confused and will need to rewatch later.
There's a second bonus point if the first jump is not 3t but flip or lutz

I wouldn't have known that Lia broke a lace in warm-up, it'll be interesting to see her when she goes on the JGP next season.

I'm looking at the rules and I think she misinterpreted it since it doesn't specify that the 3T-3T doesn't get a bonus point, or about a second bonus point for the first jump not being a 3T. This is what it says about bonuses for Juniors in the rules:

  • women: + 1.0 for triple Loop Jump performed as solo jump in short program
  • men: + 1.0 for each triple Axel or higher Base Value jump in short and free programs
  • women: +1.0 for any triple jump or higher base value jump immediately followed by:
    • a triple jump* or
    • An 1Eu/1Eu<< immediately followed by a triple jump
*awarded once per program for each different triple jump
The other bonus point in the short comes from a rotated 3Lo, so Chantalle got a bonus for the 3T-3T since she didn't rotate the 3Lo.

They used to reward hard triple jumps... So I'm confused too

Lia Cho is such a tiny bus queen.
If my lace broke, I’d be having a heart attack. She is cool and collected. Reminds me of Alysa Liu in some ways… I love how Yuka Sato worked with Lia to refine some of the details of this short program. This makes me think she will repeat this program for the JGP circuit next season. The modifications made me like this program more. 66.97 is a PB for Lia. So proud of her.

Not far behind is Victoria. She was great and could push Lia tmrw. Looks like she is fighting for the World Juniors spot.

Megane - I worry about her. Will she unravel during the free skate and end up in her usual tears 😭. I’m hoping she has a good free skate tmrw

Better from Konstantina. Nice first half. Got a bit tired in the second half and the jumps stopped working.
