our teams, aside from Max and Deanna, are all very very young and already at a good level.

Okay, possibly not a popular opinion, but I suggest that like their compatriots, they go back to their free skate from 2 years ago.
Deanna just isn't really acting or getting into character in this program the way she did in the Dracula program. At this point in the season, I don't think there is any other way for them to salvage things and put them in a position to medal at the Olympics.
They have not had a really solid performance with this program, and while going back to the vampire program is a risk, I'm not sure it's any more of a risk than expecting this program to magically turn out well in Milan.

So sad for them but I know they will have wonderful Olympic moments ahead. Looking forward to watching them in Milano.

I felt that they should not have competed here today.Eliana and Thierry... I don't know... I know Thierry was injured so this is really new for them as a team though they paired up in 2024 but I don't see it.

Wow I knew they were goid but I didn't think they would win the natl title. Congratulations Peraand Michaud on your national title. Great job Stellato -Dudek and Deachamps on 2nd.

Yep - they have been all season. For both sets of jumps. They had things figured out better in the short program, where they were a lot closer together, but they reverted back to the miles apart pattern for both side by sides in the free.

I think that unfortunately the fact is that Max has never been a particularly strong jumper, and while she is amazing, she's in her 40s now, and while we'd all love to say that she's incredible because she doesn't let that hold her back, the undeniable fact is, and I can vouch for it myself lol, that there is a tremendous negative trajectory in terms of power, spring and strength once you hit 40 or 41 age marker.....

The problem is almost always are the same element and the same error, ok maybe theme isn't the proper and don't allow to do the element fully and clean within the planned moment, beat or section of their program, the most probable is the theme is very daring to them , by example Cleopatra program in 2021-22 theme and music fit with their speed of execution of their program but later with other programs begun the errors, can change their programs for Olympics but their problem is time

Feeling guilty. I picked Lea and Trentt for first so they would gain confidence, and Deanna and Max for second to (not sure but perhaps make them reset). Didn’t think it would happen tho

Yep, totally. I just think that they really have nothing to lose at this point, because barring a miracle, this program isn't going to do it for them, and the vampire program has a lot more positive memories and a lot more success. No, there's not a lot of time, but I think they could do it. I would say it's worth a try anyway.
Going back to a program this late as always a risk because in some senses it could be seen as a desperation move, especially if it doesn't pan out, but there are lots of times when it has been a very very good decision for skaters in the past...

I was thinking the same thing while watching. The vampire program gave her a character to portray and she was able to make use of her whole body down to the fingertips and really sell the character and the story. Max was able to stay in the background as her bemused victim and let her shine. This program, when it goes off the rails as it did this time, just looks like a string of fairly basic pairs moves with some tricky inbetween bits that haven't been coming off well this season. When one element after another goes wrong, they start to look as if they really, really wish they could stop and go back to the beginning and try again. They look so exposed, as if they wanted to hug the boards and hide, away from that big open expanse of ice and all those eyes watching.
