I thought Gabby looked really good and was maybe marked a little lowish because of the starting order. Hope she does well in the free. She's a dynamic skater and I love her speed.

I had never seen her skate before last night. I enjoyed her speed as well and what I call 'ownership of the ice'. Frankly, I liked her performance the most out of anyone. Bold is gold to me.

Booos to the camera crew- stop the overhead camera, please. Very distracting. Takes away from the fluidity of the programs and insults the athletes. Imagine a lifetime of working on flexibility for spins, and all we can see is the blur of their heads and the glare of the lights reflecting on the ice, before the next awkward cut away.
It may be too late to save this competition unless they save it for the replays. Here’s hoping…
Wishing the Olympic crew will take notice and film from the ice level during the competition- the way the judges are seeing the performance, not dangling and spinning from overhead.

I can’t get over how solid gabby looked. Just phenomenal. Honestly skate of the day for me. Only critique I can give was her combo spin on the catch lost a lot of speed at the end of her program. Everything else was very very strong

^^^That was an amazing skate. Her speed and power were incredible! Hope she does well in the free!
I hope so too. It may be harder for her but Nationals wasn't bad... turned a triple lutz into a double and there was another small pop... She is, for a reason I ignore, planning 3lz-3toe combo so yeah... not her trademark 3t-3t ... :(

In tears with Yuna Aoki's win. Ami Nakai was also so beautiful to watch. Love the genuine camaraderie among their teammates here. Also very happy for Bradie Tennell to place 4th.

Perfect podiums today, IMO! Also super thrilled for the dance medals. Zingas/Kolesnik are just unstoppable. Green/Parsons always a joy. The Browns get their perfect moment...

Having watched all of the ID, here goes my wrap up:

That fall from Jamie and Everest in the RD looked horrible, and it certainly cost a lot of points. A bit of redemption in the FD thankfully. I love it when there are South or Middle American couples in ID, but I would love some more sass with these couples (and I'm not talking about the RD). Bring it on! The Chinese couples are all pretty close, though I do find Shiuye and Xinyu scored a little high. Good for Canadians Lily and Nathan though. An excellent and very watchable skate for them (and their RD wasn't to be sneered at either). I was so pleased Hannah and Ye had a bit of redemption as well. His mistake in the RD did not look nice, but he was better now. And the FD is so lovely. Utana and Yushida did fine, but they still need some more work although I agree with Chris that they look lightfooted. Holly and Jason also had a fine skate, this programme fits them well. Why is there no pewter medal? I loved to watch Alicia and Paul, and really thought they deserved a medal for that FD. But...so did Oona and Gage. That Godfather programme fits them like a glove. Oona is such a lovely, fierce girl! Theirs also is one of the RD's I enjoy. I like it that siblings look for a different type of theme. I admire Caroline and Michael, they can do very difficult things effortlessly. However, their Dances are difficult to understand. Especially the FD. Well executed, but it doesn't pull me in. Emilea and Vadym do. Even with a warhorse like Romeo and Juliet. They really are very good. I must say, Emilea's joy in the K&C was also lovely. Not extravagant, just obvious what it meant to her. A lovely sight.

I wondered if the French sisters were there, and yes, they were there! Spotted them in the audience after the Browns' FD. They get the award for Super Fans and most attended events!

Just rewatched the skaters on the ID podium and enjoyed all 3. The scoring still remains a mystery to me. I need to do some studying before the Olys!

Finally had a chance to catch up on the ladies. Yuna Aoki was ethereal! She looked like she was floating. Watching her joy and her tears, it was hard to hold back my tears. Not a great outing for the North American ladies. I had jet lag and I was just watching, can't imagine how they felt. Sarah's reliable jumps just weren't happening. Was hoping Gabby would have a great free after having had an awesome short. A shame too many errors caught up with her. I'll miss Starr and her gorgeous attire but look forward to seeing her in pairs. Bradie's perseverance and determination are an inspiration. If that was her final competition, I'm sorry she didn't make the podium. 4 4th-place finishes this season had to be a little discouraging. Happy to see Haein Lee back. Nice effort from Tara Prasad. Enjoyable event.
